RickHH Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I saw a web somewhere for a dealer selling prebuilt engines for around $22-$25 dollars.. Now I can't remember where I found it....anyone help me pls...??? Thanks Rick
johnbuzzed Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I've seen pre-built engines in Hobby Town USA; I don't remember the prices.
Brett Barrow Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Probably these - Phoenix Toys' "PTX Mini Engine" line: http://phoenixtoys.com/Hobby-Gear/PTX%20Mini%20Engine They're basically just the engines out of their 1/24th diecasts with a display stand.
Greg Myers Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) I believe those are 1/18th scale. Maybe these ? http://www.detailmaster.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=RGE Edited February 6, 2014 by Greg Myers
TooOld Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Actually the Phoenix Toys engines are 1/24th scale . Nothing fancy though except for the plug wires and vacuum lines . I guess if you really hate painting your own engine ten bucks might be worth it .
Greg Myers Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Good deal on the engines ( until you go to a contest) Edited February 6, 2014 by Greg Myers
Nitro Neil Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Greg, that package says 1:24 scale. "Most of our Hobby Gear line is 1:24 scale." Edited February 6, 2014 by Nitro Neil
CJ1971 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I've actually just purchased some 1/24 hobby gear stuff, roadside equipment/witches hats etc, because they're hard to scratch build & quite convenient for dioramas. While going through their eBay store they have nearly double 1/18 scale stuff then they do 1/24. So I'd say most of their stock/stuff IS 1/18.
Danno Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Hey, Rick! Welcome aboard. What part of Arizona are you in?
