alangarber Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 looking good Tom That color really stands out.
tbill Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 thanks guys, that sleeper was a royal pain. Dennis, it's testors lacquer clear, at work now, i'll post the product number later on, it's ultra gloss or something to that effect. i really like it, you can load it on and it doesn't seem to run/sag or pool up, or maybe i am just getting really lucky
Tesla Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Thank you. I can't stop admiring how nice the paint job came out
tbill Posted March 28, 2014 Author Posted March 28, 2014 Dennis, model master 28139 is the lacquer clear, ultra gloss I can't wait to see how it looks with the hood and fairings in place. gotta do the sleeper interior next......that should be fun...hehe..
Old Buckaroo Posted March 28, 2014 Posted March 28, 2014 Not only is the paint spectacular I like the fact that "rivets died" in this episode. Rivets are so overrated anyhow.
tbill Posted April 1, 2014 Author Posted April 1, 2014 progress, [note, radiator is just sitting there for test fit, that's why it's crooked ]
Old Buckaroo Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 (edited) Bill that chassis looks great ! Is that flocking I see going on in the cab floor ? May I offer a suggestion ? Relocate your shifters towards the driver seat. None of the Brownie's I ever drove or worked on was like this. The shifters are normally in alignment with the transmission in a regular cab. I would keep the location of the shifter on the left side of passenger seat and put the other to the right of the driver seat. I dont know why AMT has them there. Edited April 2, 2014 by Old Buckaroo
tbill Posted April 2, 2014 Author Posted April 2, 2014 ya, first instinct was 'that ain't right', but then the thought of them never being seen again once installed in the cab prohibited the movement of them, lol. and yes, that was an attempt at flocking using something that isn't flock. it worked ok, but i have ordered some flock
kilrathy10 Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 Looking good, Man....That's a great looking chassis, and the dash looks pretty cool, too....
tbill Posted April 8, 2014 Author Posted April 8, 2014 dragging my feet a bit on this one. got the interior almost all painted up on the sleeper, it's looking pretty good I think. been puttering on the tanker trailer for it as well [two builds from heck, go figure], pretty soon though it should all come together. thanks for following along.
tbill Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 more progress, almost at the end of this one......
Old Buckaroo Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 That looks mighty fine Tom, great color combination. Will there be a logo on the doors or sleeper ?
Jim B Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Very nice job. I've heard that this kit can try one's patience.
tbill Posted April 20, 2014 Author Posted April 20, 2014 thanks guys. Jim, more than once I wanted to shelve this thing, but I just had to keep plugging along at it. Sean, yes, as soon as I can get my daughter to resize some stuff for me.............don't quite have a handle on that yet, lol. here's part of the trailer to go with it,
tbill Posted April 24, 2014 Author Posted April 24, 2014 trailer is now on wheels, and made some door decals for the truck,
MoparWoman Jamie Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Love the updates man! also like the color combo as well.
