I love Model Master "Nassau Blue Metallic". Can't get away from that color; have painted several cars using it....

Over the years many of my Pals said that their Dads told them that "Green Race Cars are Bad Luck"....Has Anybody else heard this?

Yes, green race cars are bad luck, unless they are Brutish Racing Green. Corvette Funny Cars are bad luck to. I remember a green Corvette Funny Car, at Orange County International Raceway, back in the late 70's. It came apart, in the lights. Green fiberglass, everywhere. Between that & all teh Beach City Chevrolet, Corvettes, burning to the ground, makes me believe those 2 superstitions.

Shades of RED. I'm so prone to selecting red that I conscientiously try to do projects that would look better in any color but red. This even spills over into real life, I've driven nothing but red cars since 1988.

that's funny and close to home, besides my road runner (blue), every car I have owned has been black, till now, I have a red Kia.

A bit of a story...many years ago I had my 1960 Buick Electra insured with classic car insurance. I got a cancellation notice from the insurance company with the explanation, "Car not in locked garage - car used for daily transportation". This was a big shock to me since the car was indeed buried in my garage. So I called the company and challenged them. They said they got this bit of intelligence by having one of their investigators call my neighbors and spoke to the busy body next door. Upon asking her she said that they called and asked about "my blue car".

That was the first time I realized that we had ALL blue vehicles. 1981 Nissan Stanza, 1976 Dodge van, 1973 Valiant Scamp, 1973 Barracuda and the 1960 Buick! So I quickly straightened out that insurance company.

Then we went through a red period. 1998 Plymouth Breeze, 1995 Celica, 1993 Geo Storm...

All quite by accident, cars bought used (except for the Stanza) and that just happened to be the color they were!

that's great. so what did you do, Tom, to have the insurance company have to call your neighbors.... I have to get stated value insurance on my runner. it's got the typical fire/theft but no stated insurance value.

back on topic, I shot some cars this week, a black 70 bee, a red 32, a silver over black 55 chevy and of course, a silver over blue 62 catalina.

I did nothing! I was paying insurance to keep my NJ Historic tag active. The car was in the garage and hadn't been out in a year or two. When I asked they said their disclaimer says they can investigate me and use any means, which includes hounding your neighbors. I wasn't keen on that at all since it implies to the neighbors that I may be doing something wrong.

Later on I bought a 1963 Studebaker. They sent me an insurance card and billed me to add it. The following year, I get my policy and no Studebaker is listed. So here I am actually driving this one, and it had no insurance on it! For that one I ditched them and found a better company.

Appears some shade of blue followed by shades of white are my most popular. Amazingly, I only have two red cars.
