Clearcoat over testors

Hi I'm new to the hobby and had a question about spraying DuPont A7480S trim and jam clear over model car testors rattle can paint. Can I do this? Do I need to wet sand the the body first?

Just about everyone on the forum will suggest spraying a plastic spoon or two with the paints and see if there's a reaction. Others will tell you to use the Testors clear over the Testors paint.

The best way to find out is find a unpainted hood or body and test it before you put it down on a model your building...
