I get Super Clean from Pep Boys (or a similar national chain auto-center) as it's sold as a driveway degreaser. It MUST be used in a plastic tub, as the first time I tried it I used an old meatloaf pan, which promptly corroded and leaked down the side of our old washing machine……… talk about a messy, icky puddle of gloop on the floor!

I have a 2 qt. tupperware container with a snap-on lid that I keep Super Clean stored in. I also have a plastic strainer I submerge small parts to be stripped of paint or chrome. Works nice and after you buy a gallon it lasts a long time as it's re-useable. Recommend you use some disposable rubber gloves as it IS a chemical. I think a gallon was about $10.

There's a bad joke about an inexpensive stripper in there somewhere…..

John thanks for the information I will try it on my next paint strip project. Now I have a different question for you the front lower valance is there suppose to be a dip in it the width of the radiator. Here is a picture of the area in question. I've been looking at reference pictures but it's hard to see the detail. Thanks for your help.

Good catch! I missed that on mine!!!! I'll have to black it out…..

Here's the opening on my car. It runs just about from the inside edges of the parking/signal lights.

Been working on the fit up of the interior tub to the Dart chassis and it requires a lot of grinding to lower it and also move it back. I ended up removing the panel behind the back seat to get the interior far enough back. Also now have the front fender wells in place. Will get some pictures later today.

Thanks Stan well it was a busy weekend with the Stafford Tx. Modelmania show on Saterday and other activities this weekend so not any progress. I'm getting close to being ready to spray the color on I'm hoping next Saterday

Yeah, I forgot about that. That silly "well" behind the back seat had to come out on mine, but it should be flush to the back anyway. And yes, your going to grind a lot off. And if you use the Dart engine compartment & firewall, you must cut off about 3/16" off of the front of the interior bucket under the dash area.

Man, I was grinding so much I forgot all the spots I attacked….

Looking forward to paint. Have at it!!!!

Hope the bench time gets improved would like to see more :)

Also if You would like, don't know if You have Wal-mart out that way, but, they have a cleaner/de-greaser named "Purple Power,"

is what I use and about 7 bucks a gallon, it is safer then "metal eating solvents" and gentle on Your hands,:lol: , just a thought.

Thank You for sharing

When question have come up about paint removal on model bodies, I currently use Super Clean from Walmart at less than $8.00 a gallon and strips lacquer and enamel.

Try it and you will love it as it doesn't damage plastic. Cleanup is wash with soapy warm water.

Don't get too close to one of those or you'll have parts falling off!

Looking forward to more of this, Dan.

I finished up the rear tail lights and sprayed the clear coat. I also have to finish the BMF on the front grill and the remaining BMF. Going to work on finishing the engine and chassis today. Here some pictures of my progress.
