crazyrichard Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 its kingsday today here in holland , a lot of flea markets .. so i found this cutting matte for 50 cents but i went to look for toycars tyres and maybe wheels , nothing ... all junk and ... untill i found this one , super simple but those rims look cool also 50 cents so ... going to ass realism to the brake discs and the rims for the front will be more narrow with less wide lip
crazyrichard Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 yes whell thats what i thought dinky ... but reality is that they are too wide / bulky ... lets say it starts to look like a jada toy car ... i can def. use the rims , i have that opel blitz i build .. when i will rebuild that into a hauler i will use the wheels on that perfect in size and width .. for now i found a set of white walls in a box i forgot about , together with chrome steelies i think it looks wicked .. will become more vintage looking , the kit bronco also includes a steel window visor .. that will fot with the wheels and style i think was een leuke gok maar die velgen zijn te lomp , te breed etc ... ik kan ze wel gebruiken voor een ander projectje als ik mijn opel blitz ga veranderen in een custom oprijwagen .. voor nu deze keus gemaakt white wall banden met chromen steelies , ga iets meer vintage kwa stijl , in de kit zit ook een stalen zonneklep ... look this is too much .. to wide and to jada like much better and realistic
crazyrichard Posted April 26, 2014 Author Posted April 26, 2014 finally found the perfect look , here with the visor ..
bobthehobbyguy Posted April 26, 2014 Posted April 26, 2014 Love it the steelies and whitewalls look great.
crazyrichard Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 thnx and well i think now it will have some more flair overall
slusher Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Love the wheels and the edging on the fenders is a nice touch. I know you will do some custom work to them....
crazyrichard Posted April 28, 2014 Author Posted April 28, 2014 thnx carl started on the taillights today , just 2 round hollow plastic bushes against eitch other in the lower section , simple and clean then i cleaned the lower seem of the talgate and let the side panellines run through to the bottom so its a whole tailgate with the lights in it later i can deside if i will make a strip under the tailgate and maybe some small sideskirts under the side and a front lip under the bumper , maybe even clean the tailgate section in the middle that kind of looks bulky
crazyrichard Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 sanded it all flat zo now its one piece , i will put clear red styrene sprue in a drill and make them the right diameter and shape to put in the holes as lenses
slusher Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Very nice Rich, so the side tail lights are gone.?? I like what your doing on this build...
crazyrichard Posted April 29, 2014 Author Posted April 29, 2014 Very nice Rich, so the side tail lights are gone.?? I like what your doing on this build...yes the molded taillights that covered the rear and side are gone , i filed them off and put some bondo in the seems , then filed in the bodyline of the side into the corners where the tails where so that runs through ..everything / all mods i have done so far are bondo-ed and flattened but i figure after primer i will have some monour clean up to do .. nothing major
slusher Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 yes the molded taillights that covered the rear and side are gone , i filed them off and put some bondo in the seems , then filed in the bodyline of the side into the corners where the tails where so that runs through .. everything / all mods i have done so far are bondo-ed and flattened but i figure after primer i will have some monour clean up to do .. nothing major I believed that you would and I think it will make it look better with the look you have going. I am enjoying your work on this Rich....
crazyrichard Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 thnx guys and todd whell i was thinkign about that i tried real wood but in a way it wont work at this point .. then i should have done it from the start and cut out the sides and make those all wood ...
crazyrichard Posted May 4, 2014 Author Posted May 4, 2014 because the style is going more towards the vintage look like with the white walls and chrome steelies and i added a visor , i figured the rest did not need to be as clean anymore .. so i started to make some roofrack rails , since i will put on a surfboard ,, just the first strips will develope further drawn 3 lines just as a inspiration thing // could make indentated lines there maybe .. added an edge to the bonnet wich makes it look bad ... lol needs shaping just glued it on
Dinky Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Nice progress, it will become one great surfer dude's ride
crazyrichard Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 thnx arno , btw i'm building this one slow .. the weather is great and i have so much other stuff .. for now i'm building on it a few times a week .. summer mode
rsxse240 Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I know all about those slow going summer builds. I also build real cars, mow yards, have BBQs on the weekends, go to car shows. There just isn't enough time to do everything and build a model. Keep us posted as best you can, I am really enjoying this build!
crazyrichard Posted May 13, 2014 Author Posted May 13, 2014 i didnt feel like building lately , weather is great , and i cleaned my workshed , got everything tidy-ed up , greased my colomn drill ... and i have loads of nice things to build and do .. so .... but i just did some work on the bronco .. not much but ... i made like those indented lines on the hardtop / roof .. i drawed it out , cut the lines with a knife and ruler , then sribed them with a steel pen , sawed them deeper and finally sanded the edges round made them cross the panellined from the hardtop the rear , i made the lines run into the edge of the roof seen from the side you can see i glued a strip in the middle of the hood like this , when the glue is really hard , i will sand the strip down a lot and get it some shape on the edges so it a slightly raised line in the center
Psychographic Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 Wow this things come a long way! The 3 grooves and 2 strips you added to the roof make it much more realistic. You've got some great ideas and the craftsmanship to go with it.
slusher Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 Nice work on the roof Rich. Have you thought about putting a rack up there??
