KJ790 Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 Made a little more progress on this build after letting it sit for a while:
Petetrucker07 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Looks good man. I really wish i could quit arguing with myself and just build 1 of my 379s
Chris guthro Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Where did the 1/25 hood come from and cab?
fantacmet Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Love the grill on there. It never even occurred to me to remove the engraved mesh, and replace it with something else. However I've done it on the cars, go figure.
KJ790 Posted December 17, 2014 Author Posted December 17, 2014 Where did the 1/25 hood come from and cab? The hood and cab are both 359 snap-kit pieces that I tried to modify into 379 pieces.
vincen47 Posted December 17, 2014 Posted December 17, 2014 Ya know KJ, I'd think there'd be a market for a 3406e/C15 conversion kit. Valve cover, timing cover, etc. to convert the old 3406 into a modern version "E". You could call it a yellow engine "E" upgrade kit.
kilrathy10 Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 Great job on this thing....Amazing work on the hood, cab, and the sleeper.....Beautiful....Man, I gotta build one of these....
KJ790 Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 Finally got a little more done. Here's a quick mock-up:
Old Buckaroo Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 That is looking so good. Amazing transformation. These kits are by far the best deal and the most fun to convert !
KJ790 Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) Got the cab mounted with some of the chrome. Still need to finish up the fuel tanks, air cleaners, bumper, sun visor, mirrors, and a few other details. Edited February 2, 2015 by KJ790
kilrathy10 Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Looking good, Man.....Very nice job on the sleeper....
gatorincebu Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Dayum KJ. That is looking real good! I enjoyed meeting you at the Fulton show. looking forward to seein g some more of your resin come out. Be Well Gator
KJ790 Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 I used fuel tanks from a Moebius lone star, as they are the perfect size for the 150 gallon Peterbilt fuel tanks. I sanded off the molded in straps and made my own out of styrene. I also added a "weld" where the real Peterbilt fuel tanks have a welded seam. I also added some scratch built air cleaners and bumper.
Petetrucker07 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 That'll look real good under that reefer you just finished.
