The Hoosier Model Car Association will be holding it's 34th annual model car contest and swap meet on Saturday May the 3rd,

9am - 4pm. It will be at the Knights of Columbus hall at 511 E Thompson Rd, in Indy. It's just south of I-465 and right off of US-31.

The theme this year is "50 years of the Mustang". They will be giving a special hand-made plaque for the best Mustang as well as for all the other special awards. Plus $50.00 to the "Best in Show".

It's always a great show and there's always lots of vendors there from several states.

Admission to the swap meet is $2.00, free for kids under 12. The contest costs $3.00 for the first model, $1,00 for the rest. Kids 16 and under only $1.00 each.

Where else can you spend $5 for half a days fun, and get together with your modeling freinds and most likely make some new ones while you're there?

So please come on out, you'll be glad you did!

I gotta say, I had fun there, I won 3 plaques/ trophies! I got third in custom with my '50 Olds, second in drag for my Slingster rail, and won best GM for my Olds!

Got to talk to Kris Morgan, nice guy! Bought a cool Caddy kit from him! Thanks Kris! Got some freaking sweet drag tires from Scale Dreams that were made by Scott at future attraction. Those tires, man, sweet! Don't have pics coz I'm using a tablet right now...

I also met Ted "chopper" Lear, real cool guy! Thanks Ted for showing your builds to me! Had a good time!

I was there, very nice show. I did get some photos but, the lighting there was terrible and when I used my flash it was too much on close-ups. Maybe someone else has some better ones. I did see some expensive cameras being used.

The venders were great also. I found several guys selling out and offering kits for $5. Guys my age are realizing they will have to leave ther stash to someone when they are gone and are starting to worry. Not Me!!! At least not so far.

Here's some photos I took, not the best, I'm kinda shaky, but if you go to my fotki site you can see them.

It was a pretty good show. There were a lot of nice models there. It was kinda dark in parts of the contest room. There were lots of great bargains in the swap meet. All the vendors were friendly and helpful and had some great products.

Anyone who didn't make it should try to be there next year! Our 35th year.

This was a good and fun show. Had a nice time talk in with ya Six and others. Always nice to put a face with a name. Scored a 60 DeSoto and a 63 Starfire. My kid scored a couple kit he was after. Thanks to all that stopped by the tables.
