Scottnkat Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 After doing a couple of curbside kits, I needed to build something with an engine. Only problem is that my wrist is still not healed, so I didn't wanna mess up anything I liked. I figured I'd just build something that I don't care about so if I screwed it up, it would be okay. This was built mostly box-stock with only a few small changes. The paint is Wet & Wild Eggplant nailpolish picked out by my daughter. These silly decals came with the kit and she liked the decals so they're on the car now. Here's the engine compartment Here's the basic black interior and a final picture before it goes up on my daughter's shelf
Danno Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 (edited) Well, that's really different! But it looks to be cleanly built, Scott. And good for you for letting your daughter pick the color and graphics! Years ago I knew a guy who had two young (twin) daughters. One excelled in school while the other struggled. He tried a lot of things to motivate the one daughter to get better grades. He finally hit on an idea. He was due to order a new company car a few weeks down the road, so he promised the daughter she could pick out the color of his next company car if she achieved a certain goal. She was jazzed . . . and motivated. She studied the Ford brochures alongside her school homework. When the time came, she met the goal set for her and she "won" the right to pick the color of dad's new company car. To his horror, Ford had introduced a pearly-lavender-pink iridescent color that year. I think they sold 7 or 8 cars nationally in that maggot-gagging color. You guessed it. Daughter Dearest proudly announced that was her selection! That poor guy lived up to his promise and gamely drove a fru-fru Taurus for the two years it took to rack up enough miles to get rid of it. I both felt sorry for him and admired him for being true to his daughter. (He never did that again.) Edited April 22, 2014 by Danno

Harry P. Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Not my thing, but a beautifully built model! The detail on the dash and gauges is especially nice. And points to dad for letting your daughter be part of it.
blubaja Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Not bad for a build you don't care about lol. Looks really good actually.
slusher Posted April 23, 2014 Posted April 23, 2014 Super nice build Scott. You have been doing some great work..
Scottnkat Posted April 23, 2014 Author Posted April 23, 2014 (edited) Thanks, all, for the comments, and yes - there was liberal use of Micro Sol employed with this. Danno, that's a great story - thank you for sharing Edited April 23, 2014 by Scottnkat
