Unraveling the Snake pit - Building a AA/FC in the late 60's

I found this online several years ago and NO idea where it got it or if it's even still out there.

Either way I tend to right click save just about anything and everything old drag car related.

In the past I've seen several wanted posts for this article .
So, i just posted it in my fuse webpages to share. Just click on the link and enjoy.

If I remember right the article used the Hawaiian AA/FC . If I am wrong someone please let me know.

If correct I will add the pictures I have of the restored car .( when I get a few minutes to sparee to upload them all, and I have a bunch)

It was the Hawaiian that either flew at the Winternationales or its replacement. It was originally published in one of the car modeling magazines of the era. I believe it was Car Model magazine but it could have been Model Car Science. It was posted on the Straight Line Modeler website but it appears that site is down.

I was pretty sure of the car and that it was in a model magazine back in the day ,,,just didn't know who wrote or when .

I personally would love to do a full detail build of this car. As I think it was one of the best looking cars of the period . But unfortunately I don't have the time or inclination to get that carried away. I already have one built from the Polar Lights kit that I am pretty happy with.

Just added a bunch of pics of the restored car I have on file. So maybe someone else can put this article to good use .

Harry is exactly correct. It was a multiple article series that ran starting in 1969.

I used it as one of my references in building the funny car models that won Best Detail at the 1970 MPC contest at the Detroit Cobo Autorama... Tim
