ERIK88 Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 (edited) Wow nice paint and rim choice! How do you make it so that the outside rim part is chrome and inside black? Beautiful ,! Edited May 17, 2014 by ERIK88
crazyjim Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 Thanks Eric. The Pegasus wheel comes chrome plated. I mixed some Testors aluminum and black chrome together to the shade I wanted and then hand painted the spokes.
ERIK88 Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Oh so mixed bottled paints? Cool, by the looks of it it leaves you with clean stroke free results. I always thought maybe u spray painted to get them looking as clean as yours. I'll definitely give it a try. I've always like the back end or pillar design of this car. Pretty slick.
crazyjim Posted May 17, 2014 Author Posted May 17, 2014 Thank you Ira. I use a 00 brush for small things like wheel spokes, Erik. I don't think there's any brush strokes but they'd be too small for me to see anyway. Mixing aluminum or flat steel with black chrome gives a pretty nice satin finish to the spokes.
