camaromaniak Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 this was my first attempt at lengthening frame and scratch building parts. still not done but very close. enjoy. thanks.
Petetrucker07 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Very nice work kevin. Did you get the stacks off ebay from seller rhino. What did you use on the trailer, alclad or bmf?
camaromaniak Posted May 22, 2014 Author Posted May 22, 2014 i made stacks out of aluminium stock from hobbie store as for side of trailer i used chrome rocker panel tap from auto parts store
cappy625 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 nice paint job! I also like the spread axle on the trailer. very nice build!
tbill Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 great looking build! love the color choice, excellent combo. trailer looks spectacular as well! only thing I see that is 'odd' to me, the chrome mud gaurds in front of the rear wheels look to be on upside down, was this on purpose, or? looks cool actually, but looks as though they would drag on the pavement in real life.
Petetrucker07 Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 Thats exactly what he did, its different, outside the box thinkin, kinda jealous i didnt think of it. They probably would drag the ground but thats how we roll on the west coast. Low and slow!!
purepmd Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Super sharp build! Very well done. Ingenious solution to a stainless sided trailer! I am burning rubber over to Auto Zone after posting this. LOL.
kilrathy10 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 This is a very nice build....I, particularly, like the rocker panel tape you used for the trailer sides.....That really came out good.....I also like the reversal of the fenders on the truck....That's something I don't think many of us have ever tried....That looks pretty awesome....I mean, seriously.....I'm a pretty "seasoned" modeler and I've NEVER thought of that, as many of us would agree....Sure, they would drag, but if you cut even a couple mm off, then you've got something really workable.....I, for one, am thankful for that idea.... Amazing what you can learn from this forum.....And the paint scheme ROCKS, by the way....
trick my mixer Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 Looks Super!!!! Reminds me of one of those " West Coast LARGE CARS ". I'm liking it.........
camaromaniak Posted May 23, 2014 Author Posted May 23, 2014 thank you all for the comments. it was a fun build. still not done but are they ever?
Petetrucker07 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I agree with, things are never finished. You always see something or decide to change things, im changing the fenders again on my "finished" little 359.
