nemlio65 Posted May 23, 2014 Posted May 23, 2014 I know this is a tall order but what kit or resin parts maker would have the closest to this wheel from 15/7 American Racing Torque Thrust circa 1971 thanks Gerry
larry ray Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 amt 62 bel air or 62 impala convert . Larry They will need paint.
Len Woodruff Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) The suggestions have Torq Thrusts but they are the "D" style spoke. The picture reflects a peaked spoke. May be made by another manufacture like Radir? Edited May 24, 2014 by Len Woodruff
Stuntman Mike Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) Revell´s ´69 Yenko Camaro and http://www.scenesunltd.com/WHEELS.html I have Daisy Mag wheels from this caster and the quality is very good. Search for dioman54 on evilbay. That´s him. Edited May 24, 2014 by Stuntman Mike
Brett Barrow Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) I'll second the AMT 62 Chevys. They have the proper peaked spoke. The Yenko Camaro' s wheels are funky, the spokes are too skinny. *edit* The Yenko' s wheels are what you need. They looked funky because I've been comparing them to original Torq Thrusts and they're not, they're T70's, I see the difference now. I don't think they're right for a Yenko, though. The AMT 62 Chevy and Revell 32 Ford are great for original or D-spoke Torq Thrusts. Edited May 24, 2014 by Brett Barrow
Brett Barrow Posted May 24, 2014 Posted May 24, 2014 (edited) Here are the wheels from the Yenko. Note they have the T70's center cap, not the 5-ear design from the Torq Thrust. Edited May 25, 2014 by Brett Barrow
Speedfreak Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Scenes Unlimited has some resin Torque Thrusts Revell´s ´69 Yenko Camaro and http://www.scenesunltd.com/WHEELS.html I have Daisy Mag wheels from this caster and the quality is very good. Search for dioman54 on evilbay. That´s him. I've got some of his Mopar steelies, very nice. And he has two different variations of Torque Thrusts.
mikemodeler Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Those wheels were also offered by Atlas. I have a friend with a correct 1:1 69 Yenko that has those wheels and they are Atlas. They look the same and the Revell 69 Yenko wheels are close enough.
nemlio65 Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 These are the 1:1 15/7 and 15/8.5 it seems to me old school models used 14" as the basis for the mags they used spoke always appear shorter
nemlio65 Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 later style from 1970 to 1972 15/7 anf 15/8.5
