Brett Barrow Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 Am I crazy? Of course the answer is yes, but that's for an entirely different reason... The current Revell Snap-tite Camaro is yellow and has the ZL2 hood and RS grille, but I swear I remember Revell releasing one that was either orange or red and had a standard grille and separately molded SS hood (the one with the fake square velocity stacks), but I can find no mention or photos of it online. I did find a listing with a discontinued number for a snap Camaro that was #85-1954, but no picture. So am I crazy, or did this kit actually exist? Anybody else remember seeing it, or maybe even own one?

Casey Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Yes, it exists, was molded in red, sold under the Hot Wheels label, and did include the SS hood with separate faux vents...and no, it is not a prefect swap onto the full-detail Revell '69 Camaro's body. http://www.tias.com/cgi-bin/item.fcgi?itemKey=3923705049
Brett Barrow Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 Well, there's the problem, that's an SS hood on a "Z/28" and that's not an RS grille. No wonder it wasn't around long. Should just call it SS and bring it back out.
Jon Haigwood Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) If you have the SS hood and the RS grille you have a SS/RS , I had one int 1:1 scale back in the day. But mine was a 67 not sure if they had them in 69 Edited May 30, 2014 by Jon Haigwood
Longbox55 Posted May 31, 2014 Posted May 31, 2014 The SS/RS was available in all 3 years of the first generation Camaro.
