DeeCee Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 The only thing that bugs me about this kit, is that it has NO engine, so, i asked a mate to send me some pics of the 20B he is building, so i could try and replicate it. 100% scratch built engine, added a turbo into the mix, Aoshima BBS wheels, group C body kit , made an interior and dash, and finished it with pearl Orange Auto Acrylic paint.
Jade043 Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 I remember this from the Ozzie forum still think it's a mean ass rotor awesome work on the motor DeeCee. Have a rx3 body sittin at home will be asking for your advice when I get around to building it
Jonathan Posted June 8, 2014 Posted June 8, 2014 Nice Wankel. Which kit did you start with? The body looks like the old Monogram kit, but that one has a nice little 12a in it. You said you started w/o an engine. Very nice scratch building, but the way. Bet this joker's loud!
1 bad55 stan Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Its not exactly my cup of tea,but you have some great skills, nice paint, wheels suit it and that engine.....Stunning!Top work Deecee...

Thanks, but i'm not sure exactly what kit it was, as i scored it with some other old bits and pieces, the hood was molded on and there was a big box inside for some batteries. Cheers, guys, Dale
Zarana-X Posted June 9, 2014 Posted June 9, 2014 Scratch built engine? Pull the other one. Looks fantastic! My ears hurt just looking at it.

I will take you disbelief as a compliment, Here is a couple of pics for you. 3 x pieces of flat, glued together then shaped accordingly, will make each rotor/port section, a total of 7 sections = 21 pieces to make the bulk of the engine. Then its a matter of adding the rest of the appropriate bits and pieces so i resembles the 20B. (It is NOT perfect, i know this, but it was my first scratch build, and the first non-V8 i have built in over 30 years.) Cheers, Dale
