DynoMight Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 IT IS DONE :D This is my AMT 1955 Chevy Nomad. It is a WIP drag setup that doesn't have all its necessities yet... (View the WIP here ----> http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=90213 ) (The rear glass is not in it because the clear piece to go in it is waaayyy too small... and also, sorry for the "not-studio-quality" pictures, eventually I'll get somewhere were I can take good pictures and hopefully a better camera then my phone ahhah) Although this is not top quality of what I can do, I tried different things and I had fun with it. And that's all that matters, right? And so, it joins its fellow models on my "Favorite Models and Trophies" shelving... Thanks to those who inspired this build (1 bad55 stan) and who help make decisions in this build (W-409, johnbuzzed) and all of you who viewed the WIP (1,860 of you, wow) I hope to continue building and also posting... Thanks again -Glenn
Maxicoop Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Glenn that is one bad nomad ..... it'll get the groceries home before they get warm even in Ohio ..... glad to have a O H I O plastic buddy out there ............awesome build....
W-409 Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 Yep! I bet the groceries are home before they warm up or melt. Very cool Nomad, I like the Primer paint job and the stance is just perfect. I think it looks like an old Drag Car that has been sitting for a while and now someone has started working with it again. Very neat build! Only improvement I might do would be BMF on the chrome trim. It would look maybe a bit more realistic. But other than that I say it can't be built much better!

Haha, that's funny, thanks man! Yep! I bet the groceries are home before they warm up or melt. Very cool Nomad, I like the Primer paint job and the stance is just perfect. I wasn't really going for anything in particular as if it was a old draggin' wagon or a prostreet, I just had fun... I left the chrome un-chromeified because I think it makes it look more... project-y... thanks for telling me to get a bigger motor haha, it worked out in the end anyways...

rmvw guy Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Yes Glen, FUN is what it is all about. I like it, thanks for sharing.
Harry P. Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 I left the chrome un-chromeified because I think it makes it look more... project-y... Even a "project" Nomad would have had the shiny window trim.
johnbuzzed Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Glenn, that came out really nice; much better than what I built when I was your age. The best part is that you had fun and enjoyed the build, and that's what counts. Keep up the good work and keep asking questions.
