crazyjim Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Anybody know if 1/25 scale lawnmowers are available anywhere?
Brett Barrow Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 MPC's old Indy cars had lawn tractors without mower decks. Scale Equipment Ltd. makes resin ones too, I think they're based on the MPC tractor with added deck. Check G scale train stuff, too, there's bound to be some mowers out there for those, I know there are for smaller scales.
Longbox55 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Another source are die casts from Scale Models and Liberty. Both have made trucks that came with push mowers (John Deere and Craftsman), and I know of at least one release that came with a vintage john Deere lawn tractor.
1930fordpickup Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 Jim that may take you awhile to get the yard done. The old Indy Car with the Wheel Horse is the only one I know of. They are on EBAY often. Last week one was on for 10.00 starting bid.
crazyjim Posted June 18, 2014 Author Posted June 18, 2014 I talked with the owner of Scale Equipment. He has a lawn tractor and quite a few other neat goodies. I'll check some train places too.
1930fordpickup Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 There is a 1/24 scale Exmark Zero Turn on the bay right now Jim. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-IN-BOX-EXMARK-LIMITED-EDITION-LAZER-Z-DIE-CAST-REPLICA-1-24-SCALE-/390640317507?pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item5af3fa3443
Aaronw Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 There is a company that sells kits of pre-painted plastic items for models. I bought a garage set that had things like an air compressor, roll around tool box, floor jack and other shop items. They had other sets as well, including a yard working set with a lawn mower and other landscaping items. Unfortunately I don't recall the company but I used to see them at Hobby Town USA.
Aaronw Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) Here they are http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2047675.m570.l2632.R2.TR3.TRC1.A0.H0.Xhobby+gear&_nkw=hobby+gear&_sacat=222&_from=R40 Unfortunately I don't see the landscaping set with a lawn mower, but now you have the brand name. Longbox55 Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 I have the original landscaping set, it does not have a lawn mower in it. I does seem that they have issued a second landscaping kits, but while it does have some power equipment in it (edger, leaf blower, weed wacker), it does not have a mower in it either.
Brett Barrow Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 (edited) Here they are http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2047675.m570.l2632.R2.TR3.TRC1.A0.H0.Xhobby+gear&_nkw=hobby+gear&_sacat=222&_from=R40 Unfortunately I don't see the landscaping set with a lawn mower, but now you have the brand name. Oh yeah, the large landscaping set from Phoenix Toys has a push mower. We even sell them. Totally forgot! Oops, never mind. That's an edger, not a push mower. Edited June 18, 2014 by Brett Barrow
crazyjim Posted June 19, 2014 Author Posted June 19, 2014 Thanks for the info, fellas. I'll be checking those places out.
Aaronw Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 Well that's a bummer, I was sure one of them had a lawn mower. Looks like everything but, what a strange omission since I would think that would be an important item and they seem to include everything else.
von Zipper Posted June 19, 2014 Posted June 19, 2014 There was a guy in Ohio that belonged to the Buckeye Model Club that made vacuum formed mower body's out of .010 Evergreen stock. I used the engine from the Dragula Surf Slab, wheels/tires are made from Evergreen round tube
