tbill Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 wow, you guys have a ton of cool looking builds! Jim, i dunno, some trucks just look naked without a trailer
Tesla Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I've got a long ways to go to catch up with everyone. Here's my group picture:
Superpeterbilt Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 I've got a long ways to go to catch up with everyone. Its quality not quantity, and youve built some fine trucks Dennis. I have to tell myself that all the time. Ive only built about 5% of the models that Ive stockpiled. If I didnt exercise self control, Id try to build them all at once! Anyhow, youve got some great trucks.
Petetrucker07 Posted June 27, 2014 Author Posted June 27, 2014 Those look good, you have more finished than i dao, if i post my collection now, it would consist a bunch of boxes, a couple in progress and 1 done
GLMFAA1 Posted June 27, 2014 Posted June 27, 2014 Greg, is that a storage unit filled with models? WOW!!! That was a mini pod that held what I recovered of my collection from a house fire five years ago greg
Petetrucker07 Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 Oh my, looks like you saved quite a bit.
tbill Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Dennis, other than 3 cars and one p/u, that is all I have done in 9 months. my buying on the other hand............. I always figure a month atleast to do a truck and trailer, and so far I am only doing oob builds, I ever start detailing them, i'll never get anything done, lol. I have, by my math, 10 years worth of kits to build yet.......[and another 5 years worth of cars/trucks].
Petetrucker07 Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 Im like you tom, only 1 car, 1 truck and 2 projects, but buying, oh boy. I just want to have everything i need when i go to start building, i figure i have about 5 years worth of builds.
Old Buckaroo Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Dennis - nice collection you have going. I also like the fact you have plenty of room for future builds. What is the excavator , kit or diecast ?
Tesla Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Dennis - nice collection you have going. I also like the fact you have plenty of room for future builds. What is the excavator , kit or diecast ? Thanks Sean...the excavator is by NewRay. Here's the link to it on this site: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=87540
Tesla Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Thanks everyone...I'm starting to buy kits for future builds. Never a lack of ideas. If only there was a workaround for the need to sleep, think of what could be accomplished
alangarber Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Here is 1/2 of my built trucks ">http:// ">http://http://s231.photobucket.com/user/alangarber/media/004-3.jpg.html'>
alangarber Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 Here is the other 1/2 ">http:// ">http://http://s231.photobucket.com/user/alangarber/media/005-4.jpg.html'>
Petetrucker07 Posted June 28, 2014 Author Posted June 28, 2014 That looks awesome alan, i really like the orange bottom dump.
Superpeterbilt Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 What a great collection Alan. You have some pro-built stuff for sure. Im interested to see close ups of some of the trucks in that first picture, like the autocar, and the Freightliner coe with the matching dump trailer, and that red KW logger
Superpeterbilt Posted June 28, 2014 Posted June 28, 2014 (edited) Greg, thats quite a collection also. Sorry to hear about the fire, but it looks like you got out a lot. Edited June 29, 2014 by Superpeterbilt
trick my mixer Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Here is another part of my truck collection. Kind of tough with all the reflections, but here we go
Superpeterbilt Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Definitely cool! Im sure in person the mirrors add a great effect.
Old Buckaroo Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 Really liking the CF doubles and tractor ! On the someday list to acquire and build. Back in the day I would have dreaded a service call to that outfit - but in 1/25 scale they are tolerable.
Petetrucker07 Posted June 29, 2014 Author Posted June 29, 2014 These are very impressive collections. Wish i had pics of mine when i was younger. Now what i still have are glue bombs or just memory pieces good for nothing else, plastic is soft like its starting to melt. There is still some that are salvageable. I agree with sean the cf build looks really good. Someday ill build a set of wobble wagons.
Pavel A. Posted June 29, 2014 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) This is my display case. It will be for 75-80 trucks. Lights are Led stripe (cold light) 5 meters long with remote controller and dimmer. Edited June 29, 2014 by Pavel A.
