Byron5150 Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Green will look good on your nova Byron. Looking forward to seeing the painted pictures... Thanks man the color I used definitely looks sweet, besides the minor mishaps with paint, on different paint. Cheers, Edited July 11, 2014 by Byron5150
Byron5150 Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Here's the green. Was able to get a good paint job after all I've struggled with so far. And even with this you can see on the left body side near bottom parts I have like blob/fish eye going on. Orange peel is gone. With the hood from an angle, you can see where the marks are, from when I thought the paint was dry. Although I should be able to remove that with polish/waxing. If I can get the left bottom side cleared out, I may shoot a couple coats of clear over this. But I think what I'll most likely do is just let the paint cure till Monday and proceed with wet sanding, polishing, and waxing. Hoping I can use that as an advantage to fix the miss haps with this car haha. Green amongst with yellow, orange, and a few others are the easiest to get orange peel. Whhoooooo well anyways here's some pics. I'll probably do some interior and chassis as I wait. Edited July 12, 2014 by Byron5150
DynoMight Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Looks good, it's too bad the left got fisheyes...
slusher Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Byron, sharp color but I think the bottom of the driver side is too much paint. I think with sanding and waxing you may be able to fix. I mean this kindly, watch about using certain words like you used in the last post. Its against the rules friend. I mean no harm and just trying to help...
Byron5150 Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 Looks good, it's too bad the left got fisheyes... They were blobs of paint but they started showing up after I sprayed. Probably from the wind.

I agree man and thanks for the compliment on the color. As for the problems in the paint I'm just gonna go with it. It's one of those classic muscle car that the owner is gonna have to have some touch ups on the body lol. Btw I edited the other post Cheers.
Byron5150 Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 (edited) Here's after being polished with the novus 2 I tried sanding some of the blob like I said but it wasn't coming out without removing paint. And I dont feel like waiting to get more green lol So here's what she looks like now. Got the engine in for pics and I think the chassis will be black Edited July 12, 2014 by Byron5150
Byron5150 Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 Nice combo, green looks good ! Thanks bro. I could of went blue to fix the mis haps in the paint. But I wanted this one green haha
Byron5150 Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 Washed and primed the rest of the parts. Chassis and engine bay washed, primed, and spray painted black with just a normal acrylic lacquer. Stripping the chrome off the donor rims Here's the rims now. Still have to pick out the slots but, yea
freakshow12 Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Coming along nice. You were asking about colors before. Here is my orange one. I converted this one to a vortech blown big block long before the big block version came out ( my luck). It's a Nissan orange
Byron5150 Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 (edited) Yea I just seen somebody's copo camaro on the forum. I have to say I'm digging the orange. That Nova looks amazing man. Byron5150 Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 Chassis is basically done just gotta add the rear shocks. And then paint the inside of the wheels and apply them. I've noticed with the rear wheels all the way pressed In, the tire slightly touches the body wheel well. The rims I was going to use, won't fit without a lot of modifications. So I stole some rims from my charger kit, what u guys think? It may be hard to see with just one. The engine is not mounted yet, I just wanted to see the mock up. All I have now is the interior, and then some engine work, and of course the finish up of the body (bare metal foil, grill, front and rear bumpers, head and tail lights. Decals and door handles)
Byron5150 Posted July 15, 2014 Author Posted July 15, 2014 Looking good my friend! Thanks bud, I'm really proud about this. I'm really good at tuners, but muscle cars have always been my weakness and I feel good about this model!!
slusher Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Nice work so far. I really like the wheel choice...
Byron5150 Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 Nice work so far. I really like the wheel choice... thanks man they should stand out a bit more, once I apply the semi black to the rotors and such.
slusher Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 thanks man they should stand out a bit more, once I apply the semi black to the rotors and such. Yes, they will look great with a darker background. I put a set on a challenger and loved them...Keep up the good work..
