DynoMight Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Right on time, my mom asks me what I want for my birthday. And I draw a blank (As usual) I was wondering if there is some stuff (tools, kits, etc) I should ask for. I already have on my list: 1/12th Foose Camaro Tamiya Paint Stand Mini Micro Drill Bit Set and Pin Vise Xuron 170-II Micro-Shear Flush Cutter Micro-Mesh Model Polishing Kit I was just wondering what else I should get, as far as kits and tools for this hobby, and I figured you guys would know what I should get. Please make it a reasonable cost ($0-$35) because I'm pretty sure my parents don't want to buy me this lol Thanks in advance! Glenn
CJ1971 Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 It all comes down to what you need & what you already have.... ? & their budget ? No-one here can tell you what your wants/needs are...
ZTony8 Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Maybe a basic airbrush like a Badger 250.Good enough to learn painting bodies with an airbrush.Get one at Michael's with the 40% off coupon.
mnwildpunk Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 Variable speed dremel. You can pick up an off brand for pretty cheap
tubbs Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 hey, don't take the little things for granted.... like plenty of X-acto blades, paint brushes, masking tape, you know, the necessities you hate to buy.
cobraman Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 How about a gift card and then you can decide what you need ?
charlie8575 Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 The idea of the Badger 250 isn't a bad one- great little spraygun to learn on, and they work well if you want to do a paint job quickly. The Tamiya paint stands are also worth considering. I like mine. Charlie Larkin
