Im gonna have to get a can of that. Its a bright, brilliant color.

For some reason im having issues spraying enamels, but not lacquers, cant figure it out. Kinda same thing you ran into changing the colors. All my lacquer jobs come out great, no need to polish. But enamels, oh boy, it needs help.

Almost there Terry...the winch detailing is superb!! You should consider selling an accessory kit for the winch ;) The flaps are awesome

Terry, did you machine the rods & bushings in the winch or are they simulated with wire & tubing? Nice job, by the way. Love it. Always wanted to build an oilfield rig. I'd have your thread in front of me all the way.

The rods are 1/16 alum welding rod, and I did machine the collars. I just turned down some .250 round stock and drilled it 1/16. The linkage for the levers is plastic using rods and tube.

Terry this just gets better and more inspiring every time I look at it. Those Hymel brand tires are just awesome !

Thanks guys. This has been one of those builds that just keeps pushing me a little further. It was hard getting certain things just right. I removed and reglued the fuel tanks and battery boxes at least 10 times trying to get them exactly right. The winch really took almost as much work as the whole truck. The trailers really ate my lunch trying to get them just right. Heres the trailers with some paint. They still need some wet sanding and more coats, but heres the mock up. I havent had any time to work on the train, so it will probably go to show with my diecast dozer on it.

Im in the home stretch. I clear coated everything late last night, and now have only a few things left. The truck just needs the windshield made and installed, tires installed, and cab fitted to frame. The trailers are done with the exception of the D rings and a few other details that will be done later. Heres a shot before the clear coat.

Are they going to have a table long enough for that monster ?

Of course if you get there first no room for the competition ! ;)

Terry - That is a serious looking truck that looks like it could haul anything. I am very impressed with the work you have put into this to make it such a jaw dropper.

Just beautiful. Very tough lookin. Amazing work, from your castings to the machined aluminum pieces to the styrene fabrication to the finished build. This is gonna be a show stopper!

Thanks for the kind words guys, its very rewarding to see it finished. No worries Sean, I have my own table. Unless theres some suprise truck appearances, it looks like Ill be representing our end of the hobby alone. My whole club is airplane guys, but its nice to be the "truck guy".

Never heard of Brockway before this. Looks great.

I wish I was better at painting, but I assume you use an airbrush for your bodies and whatnot.?

It was all done with Ace Hardware spray paint. I havent made the leap into air brushing yet. If it aint broke..
