BigBad Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 Hi guys, I don't know if I should post this here or elsewhere, but here goes... I've been posting all sorts of pictures and picture links from photo hosting sites with the photo adress from sites like Imageshack and Windows7 and XP without any problems before. It was just a 'Copy-Paste' thing and everything went relatively smoothly. My old XP computer having enough is getting pretty ill and I thought it was time to get a newer one. So I got a Windows 8 equipped laptop. Also Imageshack went money-money so I went with Tinypic (free). Now, I just cannot Copy-Paste anymore, it just will not copy from either the photo host to this forum at all. I even copied the photo address to the computer 'notepad' and then copy-paste to this forum, still nothing. Need help!
Exotics_Builder Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) What browser? IE 11 , Chrome, Mozilla, Firefox? If IE11, you need to put this site in compatibility mode as IE 11 does things with added security, ActiveX, etc. For Compatibility mode for this site, select the cog in the upper right corner of the IE Window, select Compatibility View Settings and go from there. You are also using IMG type tags or the picture icon in the post toolbar? I am on IE 8.1 with IE 11 and Compatibility mode works on this site for me. Edited July 28, 2014 by Exotics_Builder
Mike Kucaba Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 posting anything on this forum for me has been a 50/50 chance. I hit post and a green box drops down and little boxes toggle and then nothing. I'm trying Google chrome now with this post to see what happens.
Danno Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 More than likely, the 'compatibility mode' issue is your culprit. Follow Gerry's suggestion.
Zarana-X Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 It was giving me fits, Sunday. I just used Chrome to get the job done . The only reason I don't use Chrome full-time, is because I haven't figured out how to export all my favorites and shortcuts.
mnwildpunk Posted July 29, 2014 Posted July 29, 2014 Ok I got to be the S.A. but that is your only problem with windows 8? My advice go back to windows 7
