Are you referring to the padding I added?

You say that should be above the angled piece.

Thanks man!!

No, I'm referring to the roll bar pipe itself. The have the kit roll bar from the Landy kit molded in the wrong spot. Move the roll bar pipe that sets behind the pass side person shoulder up to where they're head area will be at, that will lead the roll bar pipe up to the roof been area in the roll bar leg.

Just so you know onn the show in the 1980's they also ran with a no middle bar as well in some episodes.

The correct way with the middle bar in.

Oh I understand ya now.

Yea the ones on the show with out the roll bar was the cars that had removable back roll bars for the camera.

I cut the roll bar and tried to angle up there but couldn't so I just glued it back to it's normal spot.

Thanks for the heads up and picture facts!!

Cheers,

Got the chassis and interior glued in.

And also got the BMF done, I'm not proud of the bmf on this car body wise, but I guess it looks alright.

I'd like to give a shout out to Fireball Model Works, Aka Chief Joseph.

For selling me a set of his accurate vector rims, and amazing cool and grippy tires.

What aluminum colored paint would you guys suggest for these??

I have a few silvers in mind but I'd like to here some input.

Cheers,

Probably just a flat aluminum color with a black wash over it, especially down towards the holes in the rim...

Thanks for the color suggestion, although down where the holes are will be black anyways so don't really need a wash there, but the wash might help the aluminum color look right. I think tamiya's gloss aluminum might work ill have too see.

Thanks again

Here is a shot to help detail the carb (minus the auto-trans kickdown rod farthest to the right). Notice the color of the carb...flat aluminum instead of the anodized finish seen on Holley and Rochester carbs. A PCV valve and hose going from the carb to a valve cover is easy to do and will help add some realism.

Thanks dude I painted the carb already with tamiyas gloss aluminum and drilled holes to add sum brass wire for for carb parts

Here's the radiator.

Painted it with Tamiya's Gloss aluminum as show earlier.

The black washed it. The shroud and outsides are testors flat black.

And the cap is testors metallic silver.

I went ahead and sprayed the rims with Tamiya's Gloss Alluminum

Here's some close-ups of the wheels on the GE

These should help you with detailing the wheels.. Maybe even some valve stems?

Thanks Dyno.

I have a good idea on how I'm detailing them. Thanks for the pic!! That's the same one I was looking at!

I could do valve stems. I'll do them silver.

How do you guys go about thos? Just a piece of wire in it right? Or do you guys try and replicate the valve cap as well?

I wanna make my own

You bought some nice wheels for your project. The foil work gets better with time but its hard to beat BMF brand. Your making some great progress, your getting close...

Thanks for the encouragement with the BMF. I may have to just try it with that.

Yea I'm glad I found the wheels.

Should have them detailed today

Got one painted so far. Still gotta put the valve stem into place.

What do you guys think I should do with the raised letters? I was gonna paint em white and flip them inside out like the real deal. But not very many models come with raised letters any more.

Should I face them out or in? Also what do you guys suggest for painting them? I've tried a tooth pic and I've tried pressing them flat... Still comes out a mess.

Great job on the rims! As for the white letters, get a paint brush with a pointed tip and get some acrylic flat white, and only put the tip of the brush in the cap, getting just enough paint for one letter. Then carefully paint the letter. Start with a simple letter, like a F, I, and maybe a H. Work your way through the letters, give yourself time to do each wheel. Try to not let the brush spread and make the letter really wide, keep the point on the brush. If the brush starts to spread, lift the brush off and if you lost the point, clean the brush and get the point again. Try to find a brush you're really comfortable with and practice on a few wheels that have letters. And the beauty of using a acrylic flat white is that you can just rub the paint off under some water and also, you know when it's dry. Best of luck...

Probably just get a thin copper wire and CA glue it on and then paint it silver.. Should look pretty convincing...

Thanks for the comment and suggestion guys!! I used ignition wire for the valve stems. Heres a pic of them I gotta paint them silver still.

Decals are being applied right now as well.

Got the decals on and rear panel on.

No wheels are glued yet. I made it a turnable front end.

Just to see how the wheels look. What ya guys think?

Finally got all of the time consuming things done.

So shouldn't be long. It's amazing how an orange charger becomes the general in a matter of two decals

Put a filter on the last pic too sort of give that old Dukes Appearance.

You might want to adjust those front wheels man, the Revell ones always sticks way out more then what the rears does just so you know.

Nothing's set in stone man. But thanks for the concern.

The front end suspension actually broke for this pic, but I do have to adjust it.

Stay tuned!!

Byron,

It looks just awesome so far!! You did a way cool

job on those wheels. And that finish is great too.

There is a pic in there that shows you waving in a

shadow shot that looks pretty cool also!
