Sorry, one is a 65 that was recently repopped in the original issue box, and the 66 is much more simplified compared to the 65. The earlier one has a detailed chassis and opening hood. So the differences are major, go for the 65!

Though I don't have either kit in stock, i think it's a pretty fair assumption that they ARE different kits.

I base this assumption on the fact that the box-art on both appear to be built-up models of what's in the box, and though the cars ARE similar, there are immediately obvious differences in the grilles, side trim, etc.

PS: Misha's post came up before I posted this. THANKS for the info, Misha. I've been wondering if one of these had a non-blobular chassis.

Don't know about the '65 but the '66 comes with a Cammer and parts to build it as a Grand National car.

The underside isn't too blobular (suspension is not standard).

Under the bonnet isn't brilliant but could be worse (engine is not standard).
