exesivefire
Awesome. What kit did those mufflers come in?
Devilsnake98
Those borla mufflers come from the revell saleen speedster.
pharr7226
Very nice work on the exhaust. What is he diameter of the solder you used on the exhaust?
freakshow12
Just a hair under 3mm And yes the mufflers are from the saleen. Looks big but 3 inch exhaust IS big. Lol. Tailpipes are giving me fits. Have to do them in 2 pieces each to get the look I'm after
Devilsnake98
The solder exhaust looks great, apparently doing tailpipes on a 1:25 scale fox is as hard as a 1:1. Years ago I had 3 or 4 muffler shops turn me down on them making tailpipes for my 1st car, 86 lx 5.0 notch, just from the mufflers back. Ended up just running turndowns cause I didn't know about the flowmaster mandrel bent tailpipes at the time. Keep it up though, nice work so far. freakshow12
Tailpipes . Little fine tuning and I'm set. They have a nice 03/4 cobra look from the back. Soon ready to blow it apart and get paint flying on this

microwheel
Nice job scratch building the exhaust Fred. Your project is really looking good.
JTalmage
What are you making the exhaust out of? Sorry if I missed that
freakshow12
Thanks guys. It's solder wire, just under 3mm. Joints are aluminum tubing. It's nice because it bends easily and drills easily to pin it together then some 5 min epoxy on the joins and it will all come out in one piece so I can paint
am73grand
Man this is so cool. I'll be borrowing your exhaust idea. I LOVE those rear tires. Where did you source them?
Unatural
Great job on the build so far. What size would you say the slicks that come with the kit equivalent to? I did the same thing, with the solder for the exhaust, on a Saleen Ranger that I built. It was perfect. How are you going to mount the exhaust to the rest of the model? I ended up using some wire and making hangers out of it, that I attached to the solder. I haven't had any issues with it since I put it together a few years ago. freakshow12
I would say the slicks in the kit are no wider than a 9 inch. They are skiiiiiny. I plan to make tailpipe hangars tonight and the mufflers are pinned from underneath The rear tires are 325/50 15s from Ma's resin. I have some 275s too Edited September 16, 2014 by freakshow12
