Crazy Ed Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders. Amazing the trivia the mind will retain. Whooops. Thanks for the Correction Snake.
tubbs Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Dunno, but she had bigger hits with several than the original artists. One that comes immediately to mind is Poor Poor Pitiful Me. To this day most people don't know that was written and originally recorded by Warren Zevon. Her recording of Hasten Down the Wind might have been released before Zevon's own version of it--I'd have to check the album release dates to see.I thought she was so talented. she HAD to have an original somewhere. I remember the Warren Zevon recording. can't tell you which one was first. and your right, her version blew his out the water. never thought he was the best of singers anyways. heck of a writer.
tubbs Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 this one was not gotten. i'm surprised...tand up, you don't have to be afraidGet down, love is like a hurricaneStreet boy, no I never could be tamed, better believe itGuilty till I'm proven innocentWhiplash, heavy metal accidentRock on, I wanna be the president, 'cosKISS - I love it loud
Snake45 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 never thought he was the best of singers anyways. heck of a writer. Zevon's voice is an acquired taste.
tubbs Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Zevon's voice is an acquired taste.good point. like him, just no Linda. I kind of like a lot of so-so singers now that I think about it.
Snake45 Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 good point. like him, just no Linda. I kind of like a lot of so-so singers now that I think about it. The voice I'd compare Zevon's to the most is John Kay of Steppenwolf.
Mike_G Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders. Amazing the trivia the mind will retain. That's correct. Wayne Fontana has had his share of run-ins with the law ok... (The Outsiders) The Outsiders later became Climax, who had a big hit with Precious and Few Edited April 27, 2015 by Mike_G
