Dunno, but she had bigger hits with several than the original artists. One that comes immediately to mind is Poor Poor Pitiful Me. To this day most people don't know that was written and originally recorded by Warren Zevon.

Her recording of Hasten Down the Wind might have been released before Zevon's own version of it--I'd have to check the album release dates to see.

I thought she was so talented. she HAD to have an original somewhere. I remember the Warren Zevon recording. can't tell you which one was first. and your right, her version blew his out the water. never thought he was the best of singers anyways. heck of a writer.

tand up, you don't have to be afraid

Get down, love is like a hurricane

Street boy, no I never could be tamed, better believe it

Guilty till I'm proven innocent

Whiplash, heavy metal accident

Rock on, I wanna be the president, 'cos

KISS - I love it loud

Zevon's voice is an acquired taste.

good point. like him, just no Linda. I kind of like a lot of so-so singers now that I think about it.

The voice I'd compare Zevon's to the most is John Kay of Steppenwolf.

Wayne Fontana and the Mindbenders. Amazing the trivia the mind will retain.

That's correct. Wayne Fontana has had his share of run-ins with the law

ok... :D

(The Outsiders)

The Outsiders later became Climax, who had a big hit with Precious and Few

ChrisBcritter......#s 2 & 5. That is are correct sir!!!!!! On # 5 what are those pretty blue lights? Agree!!! Lake Shore Dr is a classic Great Tune

IIRC, according to the songwriter, the pretty blue lights were on the roof of a cop car.
