Snake45 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 You might not ever get rich But let me tell you it's better than digging a ditch There ain't no telling who you might meet A moviestar or maybe even an Indian chief Workin' at the car wash, baby! Forget who sang it. Rolls Royce, or Rose Royce, or some name like that?
knarf Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Lay Down Sally , By Eric Clapton also done by Red Sovine
jwrass Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Love that crazy Rockford Band Cheep Trick!!!! Their fan base is rabid, what a great time!!! Was in the front of at all places Chocolate Fest in Burlington, WI. I was below the bass player (don't know the name) and he played a 12 string bass most of the night, up until then I had never heard of or seen a 12 string bass. When I listen to CT I always listen for the bass as it is a unique sound. When I hear The Flame I get chills, we've all been there, lost love, divorce, very deep song!!! # 2 on post 4411. Chest Fever would be correct. Done by many bands, however I was looking for The Band or Three Dog Night. Surprised no one got it! Have a great weekend everyone!! I'm doing drywall work today (rather have a root cannel) Anyone what to help??? I didn't think so!!! Have some more themes rolling around in the grey matter!!! See you on the B side. Peace Jimmy "RASS"

To me now, that's a Paul Shaffer song. He plays it every time Dolly Parton comes out on Letterman. And I laugh every time. (Or I did before I gave up watching Letterman in disgust in early 2009).
bogger44 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Third Rate Romance, but I forget who sang it. Guest Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Sammy Kershaw bie Not the original. It was done in the mid 70's by someone, but I forget who.

Harry P. Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I just close my eyes and I'm with you And all that I so wanna give you It's only a heartbeat away Leo Sayer, can't remember the title (but I can hear the song in my head!)...
Harry P. Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Sticking to the Chicago/Rockford/northern Illinois in general theme... Cheap Trick, Urge Overkill, etc... how about this one? Again, not a national hit, but big here in the area back in the day. Big enough so that I bought the album (still have it... ). Maybe too obscure for anyone not from this area... "One in a thousand, oh she's One in a million, and she's One that's not easy to forget"...
Harry P. Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Another one in the "bands from Chicago" theme... "As my life goes on I believe somehow something's changed. Something deep inside, Ooh, a part of me"...
Harry P. Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Another band from Chicago... "Well, my wave length gets a little longer every time I wave goodbye".. I'm kind of liking this "bands from Chicago" theme. I'll have to post a lot more...
Kris Morgan Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Speaking of Chicago based bands, give this one a shot. I tried to sell my soul down in Mississippi. Waited at the crossroads but, the devil never came.

Mike_G Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 (edited) I'm kind of liking this "bands from Chicago" theme. I'll have to post a lot more... Lonely feeling in the city One room flat with crumbling walls Sirens play a distant melody Neon shadows paint the halls I saw this band open for BTO in Chicago in 1976 Edited February 8, 2015 by Mike_G
