Harry P. Posted June 1, 2015 Posted June 1, 2015 You think anyone on this show had any idea what the song was actually about?

Mike_G Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 may you never hear surf music again jb It's "...then you'll never hear surf music again" Third Stone from the Sun by Hendrix
Harry P. Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I got that album! The BoDeans - She's a Runaway An underappreciated band, IMO. That's one of my favorites of theirs. Another of my all-time favorite BoDeans tunes (they have so many!):
Snake45 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 It's "...then you'll never hear surf music again" Third Stone from the Sun by Hendrix Have you ever sped that up--or slowed it down, I forget which it takes--and heard the "hidden" lyrics?
jbwelda Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 "Third Stone From The Sun" [Verse 1] Oh strange beautiful grass of green with your majestic silken scenes Your mysterious mountains I wish to see closer May I land my kinky machine[Verse 2] Although your world wonders me with your majestic superior cackling hen Your people I do not understand So to you I wish to put an end And you'll never hear surf music again jb
Snake45 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 "Third Stone From The Sun" [Verse 1] Oh strange beautiful grass of green with your majestic silken scenes Your mysterious mountains I wish to see closer May I land my kinky machine[Verse 2] Although your world wonders me with your majestic superior cackling hen Your people I do not understand So to you I wish to put an end And you'll never hear surf music again jb No, I was talking about this (according to Wiki): Voice recordings of Hendrix and his manager Chas Chandler are heard at a slower speed.[1] At normal speed, the dialogue includes Hendrix : Star fleet to scout ship, please give your position. Over. Chandler : I am in orbit around the third planet of star known as sun. Over. Hendrix : May this be Earth? Over. Chandler : Positive. It is known to have some form of intelligent species. Over. Hendrix : I think we should take a look (Jimi then makes vocal spaceship noises). I remember messing with the vinyl one day and hearing this. A bit harder to do with a CD or tape.
Mike_G Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Have you ever sped that up--or slowed it down, I forget which it takes--and heard the "hidden" lyrics? No, but I played a Black Sabbath record backward once and it said "clean you room... do your homework... stay in school..."
Guest Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 (edited) There is a song by a Christian group called Petra, done back in 82, at the beginning of a song called "Judas Kiss" there is some plainly heard backwards vocals. When played backwards, the vocals were forwards and said-- "Why are you looking for the devil when you oughta be looking for The LORD. Good stuff. That was back in the heyday of the Peters Brothers Rock seminars. Edited June 2, 2015 by midnightprowler
