Crazy Ed Posted February 5, 2016 Posted February 5, 2016 Yep Snake you got the Group. The Song Title is I've Never Been To Spain. I like the Song, but it always seemed to me like it was almost ready to bust loose but could never quite make it.

Harry P. Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Ed and Snake... correct! Ed... yeah, the song sort of shuffles along in a mid-tempo country groove, but they end it with a nice flourish...

I used to like 3Dog Night, it was sad to hear of the passing of Corey Wells wasn't it?
Mike_G Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Hoyt Axton wrote Never Been to Spain and Joy to the World, which were both big hits for Three Dog Night
10thumbs Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 ....and this one;I seen a girl on a one-way corridorStealing down a wrong-way streetFor all the world like an urban toreadorShe had wheels on, on her feet
10thumbs Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Forget the above.I just realized how you get the answers.Anyone can win.I still like the early Dire Straits.

10thumbs Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 Hi Mike, Making Movies is a good one. I agree about Sultans of Swing. But what a killer when it came out.

Interesting! On a somewhat related note, I have a bootleg of a Warren Zevon concert from 1995, when he toured with an Irish band called Something Happens as his backup. They prominently featured an old Hammond B3 organ. When performed on a Hammond B3, "Werewolves of London" sounds like it could have/should have been a Three Dog Night song!

And I also don't look up the lyrics... that would destroy the whole point. Like Mike, I rely on memory. And the fact that Dire Straits is one of my favorite bands...
Harry P. Posted February 6, 2016 Posted February 6, 2016 And speaking of Dire Straits... my all-time favorite of theirs...
