"Well, I've never been to England,

but I kinda like the Beatles"...

Can't remember the title, but I'm pretty sure that's Three Dog Night.

Yep Snake you got the Group. The Song Title is I've Never Been To Spain. I like the Song, but it always seemed to me like it was almost ready to bust loose but could never quite make it.

Joker on Jack, match on a fire, cold on ice, a dead man's touch,

Whisper on a scream, doesn't change a thing,

Doesn't bring you back................

Blue on Black, Kenny Wayne Sheppard.  Awesome song!

Ed and Snake... correct! B)

Ed... yeah, the song sort of shuffles along in a mid-tempo country groove, but they end it with a nice flourish...

I used to like 3Dog Night, it was sad to hear of the passing of Corey Wells wasn't it?

Hoyt Axton wrote Never Been to Spain and Joy to the World, which were both big hits for Three Dog Night

....and this one;

I seen a girl on a one-way corridor
Stealing down a wrong-way street
For all the world like an urban toreador
She had wheels on, on her feet

Forget the above.

I just realized how you get the answers.

Anyone can win.

I still like the early Dire Straits.

Can't speak for anyone else, but how I get the answers is from my memory

Your song is Skateaway by Dire Straits, off the Making Movies album

Their first album is still their best IMO, although I'm a little burned-out on Sultans of Swing

Knew the second but not the first. Interesting!

On a somewhat related note, I have a bootleg of a Warren Zevon concert from 1995, when he toured with an Irish band called Something Happens as his backup. They prominently featured an old Hammond B3 organ. When performed on a Hammond B3, "Werewolves of London" sounds like it could have/should have been a Three Dog Night song!

Skateaway by Dire Straits.

And I also don't look up the lyrics... that would destroy the whole point. Like Mike, I rely on memory. And the fact that Dire Straits is one of my favorite bands... B)

Hi Mike, Making Movies is a good one.  I agree about Sultans of Swing.  But what a killer when it came out.

The first time I heard that song I thought it sounded a bit like Bob Dylan singing with the Grateful Dead

When I was 5, I took a dive, When I was 10, I walked again,

No Veruca Salt fans here? This song is called "25"...............:)

May you see, It's not me, it's not my family,

In your head, in your head, they are fighting,

With their tanks and their bombs, and their bombs and their guns,

In your head, in your head, they are crying.........
