JollySipper Posted September 11, 2014 Author Posted September 11, 2014 Gotta do what you can just to keep your love alive Trying not to confuse it with what you do to survive In sixty-nine I was twenty-one and I called the road my own "Runnin' on Empty" by Jackson Browne......

I had no idea double D covered this song.

Mike_G Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 WOW!! I haven't a clue, got me on this one It's pretty obscure, I'd be surprised if someone got it It's off Blue Oyster Cult's first album
Mike_G Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 On the shore dimly seen through the mists of the deep Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Superpeterbilt Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 It's pretty obscure, I'd be surprised if someone got it It's off Blue Oyster Cult's first album I know the song but cant think of the title. That album is one of my favorites. Then came the last days of may is a great song.
Mike_G Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I know the song but cant think of the title. That album is one of my favorites. Then came the last days of may is a great song. Indeed it is- I saw them play it just a couple of weeks ago. Eric Bloom introduced the song by saying that it was about some friends of his, I didn't know that.
Guest Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Wolf Creek Pass (I forget who did it, maybe CW McCall) Correct on both counts.
Guest Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Baby, don't understand Why we can't just hold on To each other's hand.

Tom Geiger Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Sometimes I'm tired, sometimes I'm shotSometimes I don't know how much more I've gotMaybe I'm headed over the hillMaybe I've set myself up for the killTell me how much do you think you can takeUntil the heart in you is starting to break?Sometimes it feels like it will
Harry P. Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 "Watching the Detectives" was written and originally recorded by Elvis Costello. Anything else is a cover version.
Harry P. Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Harry yours can be tuff and you have a wide range of music. keep putting them up I have figured out several. My brother was 10 years older then me left all his 45s when he moved out got me into music. Keep them coming... This one's for you, Carl... not obscure at all, done by one of the biggest bands in all of pop music. "Now you are here today, But easily you might just slip away. 'Cause we live in a time, When paintings have no color, words don't rhyme."
1972coronet Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 "Incurable disease on a day of rest ; I'm walking on water in a sea of incest ; I've the image of Jesus embedded in my chest ; I can't leave home without my bullet-proof vest ..."
Mike_G Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Correct on both counts. I knew it was either CW McCall, Dave Dudley, or Red Sovine- the holy trinity of trucker songs.
Harry P. Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 "Oh yeah, all right, take it easy baby, make it last all night"...
Harry P. Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 "Romeo was restless. He was ready to kill"...
