1972coronet Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 The heaviest song ever recorded?: Blood rack barbed wire Politician's funeral pyre Innocents raped by napalm fire King Crimson -21st Century Schizoid Man !! Heaviest song ever recorded ? Easily up there ! I could cite a song or two by Lou Reed ; "Venus In Furs" , "Run,Run,Run" , one I cannot name here ( think : 1966 , and a song that starts with the letter "H" ) , "White Light / White Heat" , "Sister Ray" , just to name a few . I've got to come up with more recognisable lyrics , and thereforeto , more recognisable songs (!) .

I know the bands, but not the songs. don't change too much, it gets me to listen to some of the songs you guys are posting up. like the ones listed above, I know Lou Reed, don't know the song (at least by name)
1972coronet Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 I know Lou Reed, don't know the song (at least by name) The *unmentionable* song is on The Velvet Underground & Nico (1966) , which is colloquially known as "The Banana Album" The last two songs are from White Light / White Heat (1967)

Yeah, Lou's songs have pretty heavy content - but the NOISE those three made on the USA album... makes the dust float above the floor. Mid you, the 'H' song did have a very good influence on me as a teenager - after I heard it I thought 'why would anyone get into doing that?' - so I never did! Best version is on the 'Rock n' Roll Animal' live album. Edited September 17, 2014 by DonW

tubbs Posted September 18, 2014 Posted September 18, 2014 (edited) here are some off beat ones. I remember when Mary Lou said "You wanna walk me home from school" And I said, "Yes, I do" She said, "I don't have to go right home And I'm the kind that likes to be alone As long as you would" I said, "Me, too" Edited September 18, 2014 by tubbs
