mnwildpunk Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 (edited) I'll attach a pic soon but I was in a turn lane in my 88 chevy pickup three years ago to this day .when I got the green light to turn. As I'm turning I notice a e350 ford van moving way to fast coming towards me I had one thought accelerate to get out of the intersection asap but it was to late. I got T-boned and spent three weeks in the hospital. He spun my truck around many times 3 at leas tAll I truely remember is the police officer after seeing the car seat he kept asking where is the baby (aka my stepson.) And me telling him he wasn't in the truck. I am so lucky is all I can say and sadly I still have back and other problems to this day! But I'm alive and love the fact my stepson wasn't in the truck!!! I can deal withthe problems but I'd never be able to deal with the loss of a child Edited September 20, 2014 by mnwildpunk
High octane Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 We're ALL lucky to be alive, and we can thank God for that. Wow, your truck did get "T-boned" severely. I hope that your back issues get better, and the fact that your stepson was not in the vehicle is a "blessing."
blunc Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 I am curious, did they give the driving citation to you or the ford van? in Arizona it sounds like it would have been classified as "failure to yield to oncoming traffic". I'm not insinuating anything, just curious about your states traffic laws. I personally am glad you're still around and that you share your amazing builds with us.
mnwildpunk Posted September 20, 2014 Author Posted September 20, 2014 To him he blew a .17 B.A.C . And was doing 65-70 in a 30 mph zone. He got a dui and More
blunc Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 I was a passenger in a large Ford van that got hit by an uninsured person running a red light, it spun the van a bit and caused the steering linkage to fail while we were still moving...right toward the side of a freeway. Fortunately, the van stopped before we got to the point of sliding down the embankment into freeway traffic. My head knocked out the glass of the sliding door, don't know how I didn't get a concussion...just hard headed I guess. the van was totalled.
Petetrucker07 Posted September 21, 2014 Posted September 21, 2014 To him he blew a .17 B.A.C . And was doing 65-70 in a 30 mph zone. He got a dui and More I would hope so! At least your alive. Thats the good thing. Its fricken shame that it happens WAY too often. Some people you just have to ask, whats it like to be an fricken idiot?
mnwildpunk Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 (edited) As you can see from the pic I hit my head on the drivers side glass the camaro quarter panel I was hauling broke free and blew out the back glass the passenger glass was no duh gone and I think my head killed part of the front glass I am only guessing from having glass i had removed from my left eye which I now have to wear glasses for. I broke my nose six ribs two that punctured my lung. Btw you could read the shift pattern of my truck's in the bruise on my knee. I'm not kiddin I had the bruise that read 1,2,3,4 ,5 and R for reverse. On my knee got to find humor in the worst right? Edited September 21, 2014 by mnwildpunk
