The next obvious question is why? If those people have enough money to buy a magazine, they should just start their own.

It's easier to buy and take over an existing title than start a new one from scratch. Production, staff, printing, distribution is all already in place. Starting up from scratch means building all that from the ground up.

If you have to ask, you're actually saying you don't have the wherewithal to buy or operate a magazine. A serious buyer makes a serious offer, through the right channels, which is not forum post. A serious buyer would do the research to work up a valuation based on a variety of criteria, which would not include input from message board trolls.

How much is this forum and the whole magazine worth? If someone was interested in buying it.

You"re not allowed to ask that question here on the Forum. Only trades are permitted!

Kalbert I agree with you 100 percent.

The information you would need is readily available for determining a offer. At the bottom of the main forum page there is a list of stats including number of members. Also the magazine provides the numbers for how many issues are sold , either by mail or retai once a year. The price of the magazine is on the front cover and also the subscription price.Ad rates are also available. Those numbers would provide a serious buyer enough info to determine a value. Figuring out ownship shouldn't be that difficult and contacting them should also be straightforward.

To ask the question here is just showboating.

Seriously, who here on the forum could even answer that question? If someone was seriously interested, they would know contact Gregg and ask him directly.

Very good point, Casey.

Another good point.
