chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 That red looks gorgeous... I'd like some white on it to add some depth, maybe a stripe? Two stripes?
JTalmage Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Two tone it. Red on bottom and a white on top. Follow the body line that starts on the bottom sides of the grille shell and go up and back.then coat the whole thing with a pearl clear.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 So I got some olive drab paint today, which I used in a 55 Chevy pickup. Do you think I should use it on this, or wait for money for red?
JTalmage Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) totally red. Unless you put white stars on the doors and military lettering on it... then it would be pretty cool. Edited October 9, 2014 by JTalmage
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 I have to save the olive drab, as it turns out. I've just been assigned my first contract build.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 Okay, I put some putty on a few days ago. I was home barely two minutes with the putty before I went headfirst into it, as it was my first time with actual modeler's putty. I just realized I can also get some stuff done on the Back2Stock Austin, as well. Anyways, I sanded that first coat of putty and sprayed primer. Then I added more putty yesterday, and I'm going to go sand it now. Pics straight from the warzone... err, workbench, to follow.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 So here's what I did. As you can see, I broke off the rear suspension. I'm going to put a QC rearend on it.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 13, 2014 Author Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Ghosts of decals past.... Decided to go with the red for this. I did say olive drab before, but I'm going to put it on a Civic. As a sidenote, I just recieved a phone call from Goodwill! They want an interview for a job! Fingers crossed on that 'un. chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 Well this topic now has zero interest so I'm debating whether or not to keep updating it.

Good luck with the job, and keep the postings going please, I'm not generally a Ford man but I do love those Anglias - yours looks fine so far!
JTalmage Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) zero interest? I'm over here patiently awaiting the two tone paint Edited October 15, 2014 by JTalmage
TFchronos Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 I'm watching too, very interested in how this turns out. Great work so far.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 15, 2014 Author Posted October 15, 2014 Do you think I should keep the fenders in the front? I don't know if I should or not, and the putty is a real bugga to deal with in there. I was thinking of putting the engine from the Little Red Wagon in it, because I found it complete and unbuilt in a pill bottle yesterday.
slusher Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I think you should keep the fenders Miles but its your choice...
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 I'm going to take em off real careful. They're on the frame, so I can just cut the frame. The whole frontend was going to be swapped anyways, but I wanna do this real surgical just in case I want em back.
JTalmage Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I agree. There may not be much in the rear fender department but it would look odd without the fronts
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 This one looks alright. I saw another with motorcycle fenders, too, but that's too much work.
bobthehobbyguy Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I'm confused why did the Thames Panel pickup change into an Anglia.
horsepower Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Bob, the Anglia is a 1:1 under construction rod, just an "inspirational" photo.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 I went straight to work. I stopped my No Doubt record and downed the last of my drink. Went on The Google and found some pictures of traditional T-Bucket frames. I promptly turned it off I decided to use the front halt of a Dirt Modified, for a few reasons. 1) it was on the bench 2) it's pretty square 3) LOOK AT ALL THIS ROOM FOR A MILL!! I had to cut this part off the rest of the frame and cut the width about an eighth of an inch. Look at all the room! I could fit a 427 SOHC in there! I won't, but I could. Makes the wheels sit at a pleasing angle, as well. I realize I will have to move the mounts, so don't say it
10thumbs Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 With all that room up front, how about a motor plate instead of some crummy usual type stubs? Michael
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 I do have a drag Hemi that would be cool in this. It's got a motor plate already. Just painted this engine, as well. It's the one from the LRW kit.
DonW Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 I was thinking of putting the engine from the Little Red Wagon in it, because I found it complete and unbuilt in a pill bottle yesterday. so is a Hemi a good cure for a headache?
