Harry P. Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Harry, you said that you saw the Twenty Grand at local museum. Is that the Volo museum by any chance? Scott Yes sir!
Dare1 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Wow, what a beauty. I've always had a soft spot for old Dueseys. Fun fact: $20,000 in 1933 would be worth $355,250.79 in today's money.
michael1969 Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 Great job. Always loved those old classic cars.
ToyLvr Posted October 13, 2014 Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Very nice I love this series of kits. I wish they'd re-issue these kits....anybody know if the molds still exist? This kit of the Phaeton was reissued by Monogram a few years ago, using the original box art. The original dates back about 50+ years! It should be easy to find one at a swap meet or an internet auction. Monogram did several kits of the Duesy and other grand classics. Also check out the classics manufactured by JoHan. I've been fortunate to visit the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg museum several times in the last few years. I also got e chance to sit in a Duesy on my 50th birthday a few years ago. Absolutely amazing piece of craftsmanship. Once you get to see one in person, you'll understand why the phrase "It's a Doozy" is still used today in reference to an amazing or high-quality item. Bruce - nice job on this one! Edited October 13, 2014 by ToyLvr
