webestang Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Being a Mustang freak my favorite is the 68 Mustang dash.............
unclescott58 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Greg, what did you post above? I could not get it to down load. Scott
Greg Myers Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 I got it from another board. I can't repeat it ? It's tan with lots of gauges
thatz4u Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) I got it from another board. I can't repeat it ? It's tan with lots of gauges Greg, looks like an Avanti by Studebaker to me Edited October 25, 2014 by thatz4u
Pete J. Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) My favorite. Simple, straight forward, nothing you don't need! Edited October 25, 2014 by Pete J.
FordRodnKustom Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 62 Olds Starfire. I had one of these long ago. With all the chrome this was beautiful when lit up at night. I really dig the Olds steering wheels from this period too.

unclescott58 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 (edited) The upper picture in Greg's last post is for sure Avanti. What the lower picture is, I don't know? - Scott Edited October 26, 2014 by unclescott58

Ramfins59 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I'm not sure of the year and don't have a pic but when I was a kid my uncle had an Oldsmobile that the faster you drove the speedometer would change color from green to orange to red the faster you went. As a kid that fascinated me to no end anybody know what Oldsmobile I'm talking about? I know it was mid to late 50's maybe early 60's My '59 Dodge Coronet had a "ribbon" speedo like that, it changed from green to orange to red as you went faster, as you said. I really wish that I still had that car.
pharoah Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 My vote is for the Datsun 620 pickup from 1973 to 79. Second would be the 1963-67 Corvette.

lysleder Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) I think this one deserves a honorable mention. Behold the 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT. Notice how the tachometer is positioned right atop the steering column, easy to read from the driver's seat, while gauges and warning lights of lesser importance like the speedometer and oil pressure light is located off to the side and out of the way. Gotta love'em, the Italians. - They sure got their priorities straight on this one. Unfortunately they changed the design for the next model year due to flak from the motoring press.. om617 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 This looks like the Bizzarini 5300 (GM 327) GT Stradale.
gtx6970 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 (edited) There is a chrysler instrument panel that has Speedomenter that is clear and backlit..so when I lights up at night it looks like theres nothing but numerals hovering in thin air . But for thel life of me I cant remember the application. But ,,,,,,,, I like most any late 50s or early sixties dash assemblies,,no matter the model. Although I am slightly biased to any or all of the early 60s Mopar clusters.... Especially this one Edited April 12, 2015 by gtx6970
unclescott58 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 '60, '61, and '62 Chrysler gum ball machine dashboard is still by far the best instrument cluster ever put into a car. Scott
