You need to put a "429" in it. It's right in the soundtrack: B)

Johnny had a '57 Chevy

Four on the floor and a four-twenty nine

We used to take it out on Wild Horse Pike

Run it out to the end of the line....

Yeah I should, I chose the 350 out of a 33 Ford rod kit for the headers. They seem to match the ones hanging down on the real car.

It didn't have a 4 on the floor either. It was a ratchet shifted automatic!

I have a question: What shifter is he running in the 57? I can't seem to find one like it on the net. (at 4.45 on the video). It's an auto with a trigger, round shaft with what appears to be a ball knob. I would like a better pic of one so I can replicate it.

Yes there was, and this episode was called "King of the Road". A young Brad Pitt played the bad guy. He wants to bring Garrett, a retired street racer out. So Brad Pitt (Billy) ends up dating, then kidnapping Garrett's daughter to get him to finally race. I'm not going to give away the ending if you haven't seen it.

It's starting to look like a car. I hope to have the wheels on tonight. I found some Mickey-T cheater slicks for the rear and some Goodyear Polyglass for the front. The wheel backs are from funny car front runners. I want to add plug wires and fuel injection lines to the engine also.

Are you going to correct the wheel opening shape on the rear fenders? That's one of the things that's always kept me from building this kit...that and the weird shape of the "spear" trim. I think I'm gonna try to graft on the rear fender "sheetmetal" from a Revell '57 Chevy, maybe, if everything will line up....

I am going to reshape the wheel wells. The Revell car will NOT line up 1:25 to 1:24 problem. I think I might mark the curve with a curve drafting tool and cut it in by hand. I am going to leave the leading edge of the wheel well alone and just reshape the trailing edge.
