Dirt Demon Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Here is yet another Sprint build I have going on my bench at the moment. First off....the chassis is scratch built, and the JEI body, hood, and panels are supplied by Justin Glass, from Southwest Scale Chassis. The decals are supplied by Joe Fuller from Scalesprints.com,..... Joe's decals are the best in the business! The wheels are of course Micro Nitro..... It will be a full detail build like my others.....stay tuned for progress pic!
Silver Foxx Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Look forward to seeing more of this , love those beautiful wheels .
Dirt Demon Posted November 11, 2014 Author Posted November 11, 2014 (edited) Well guys.... I have been working on this and I will be posting some new photos soon. Edited November 11, 2014 by Dirt Demon
horsepower Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Love those headers, where'd they come from? I haven't seen any races where Donny had chrome finished headers, most of the time they're black, and strangely they're glossy, and looked like a spray can paint job, but a lot of their headers were just wiped down with ATF while clean, then ran until they got hot enough to burn the ATF off, this leaves a coating that will keep them from rusting, and looks almost black but is more of a burnt look, than bare steel. Keep us posted, this is looking good.
Dirt Demon Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 Well guys, a little update on my build........here's a few photos More pics coming!
Dirt Demon Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 I got rid of that air box, and made another one..... it looks so much better!
Dirt Demon Posted November 15, 2014 Author Posted November 15, 2014 What about the oil tank?.....Dale
horsepower Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 What about the oil tank?.....Dale If you go to his photobucket site there's a great group of detail photos of final construction, and you can see in better details the machined oil tank, judging from the quality of the rest of his work my guess would be it's his work too.
Dirt Demon Posted November 16, 2014 Author Posted November 16, 2014 got some plumbing done on the engine, as well as other lines and fittings
Dale W. Verts Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Sorry, I meant- was it scratch-built? Dale
Dirt Demon Posted November 17, 2014 Author Posted November 17, 2014 thanks guys!.......No problem Dale.... the oil tank is machined alum. I have a buddy in Tenn. that makes this stuff for my builds. He's done Tach's....air cleaners... and this oil tank for me. He will be doing a lot of the aluminum parts for my Greg Anderson Summit Pro Stock build.
charlie mo Posted December 12, 2014 Posted December 12, 2014 bill what do use to fish mouth the bars in the roll cage? thank you charlie
Dirt Demon Posted December 16, 2014 Author Posted December 16, 2014 The bars for the whole chassis are just cut and glued together using Tenax7R plastic welder Charlie. no fish mouthing of ends required.
