Just wanted to see if anyone had had any experience with airbrushing water-based acrylics over standard hobby enamels and/or lacquers (Think racing stripes, multi-colored seats etc). If so, how well did they adhere?

I'm hoping to get some answers based on experience because I've got some shades of acrylics that would look great with some of my other non-acrylic paints, but I really don't want to do the whole set-up-spray-clean-up process to find out if they'll work.

TIA for all helpful replies, pics, etc.

Yes, they will. I use Tamiya acrylics thinned with lacquer thinner and they adhere perfectly over whatever surface at which I aim the airbrush. I think there are lots of water-based acrylics available, so you may have something else in mind. My experience is solely with Tamiya.
