stevez Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 I want to do a period 'correct' super stocker, if raced in 68-69, and generally acceptable to NHRA rules. I'm toying with the idea of the 68 charger. So, what stayed in, and what was taken out. Again in 1968-69. I'm not concerned with today's rules: back seat, I think they had to be left in the car. Note sure. ??? Roll bar: I don't think they were required, nor did most cars have them. Heater, radio: removed. Windshield wipers: removed. Rear mirrors, interior and exterior: removed. Sun visors: removed. Center floor console: removed. Floor carpetinig: removed. What else am I missing? or where am I incorrect?, thanks in advance for your replies.
Dan Helferich Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Steve, I PM'd you a scan of the 1968 NHRA Super Stock rules from the Rulebook.
W-409 Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Steve, I PM'd you a scan of the 1968 NHRA Super Stock rules from the Rulebook. Hey Dan, could you in any way send the Super Stock rules for me, too? I have some older rules and today's rules of course but not anything from around 1968. I know something, but a complete Rulebook from the Super Stock section would be really helpful.
10thumbs Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 About the rules, can we have a look too. Maybe just post it? Michael
VW93 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I posted a link to NHRA rules awhile ago. I found this link on the HAMB, rules are from 1958 through 1968.Perhaps someone could pin this to the top of the page?https://www.dropbox.com/sh/2006u57wp7sqpxt/eZJPZZcJdZ
High octane Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I usually leave the wiper on the drivers side, in case the car is caught in a "downpour" while in the staging lanes.
6bblbird Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Stevez , you are pretty much spot on regarding S/S rules. The rear seat would have to remain unless the car came from the factory without one eg : Hemi Darts and 'cudas or if a roll bar is installed. Remember to delete the power brake booster and install a drive shaft loop!
