taaron76 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 My first one since stepping away 20 years ago. I've got lots to learn... I'll get there. I had some yellowing of the decals and keeping the white bright. Windows kicked my butt, too. Tim
towman1271 Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 Don't beat yourself up...looks really good to me! Be proud of it
bbowser Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 You could have picked an easier paint scheme to come back, but you did a nice job with this! Gotta love a TB car.
krazyglu Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 I agree you set the bar kind of high ,but the kit look's great. Old decal's are not easy to work with and white is tricky as well. A black chisel tip sharpie marker works very well for black window trim.
taaron76 Posted November 14, 2014 Author Posted November 14, 2014 I am buying a few Sharpie's this weekend. Any particular ones better than others? I figured I'd grab a few black a few silver. Tim
Maxicoop Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 that looks great to me ...... super build !!!!!!
sigmaman Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Looks fine. Haven't built a Monogram NASCAR since I was a teenager.
krazyglu Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Tim I would recommend the chisel tip, you can hold it at such a angle and use the edge of the marker to drag a real crisp line. You may have to go over it a few time's ,but you will be amazed at how much better than paint it is. I also have a few regular tip's and a silver for picking out detail's such as bolt's. Good luck
Helix Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Looks good to me Tim, nice work considering you haven't built in 20 years!
