Pim Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Hi I would like to find the best and least expensive source for an ls series engine without buying a kit just for the engine. Thanks a lot for your patience with all my questions.

matthijsgrit Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 I guess finding a cheap 4th gen Camaro or C5 Corvette would be cheapest? There are some resin kits around as wel. Check http://vcgresin.atspace.com/main.html Or http://www.modelscientists.com/products/1-24-scale-ls2-v8-motor Good luck!

Ace-Garageguy Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Hi I would like to find the best and least expensive source for an ls series engine without buying a kit just for the engine. I guess finding a cheap 4th gen Camaro or C5 Corvette would be cheapest? matthijsgrit is right. The Revell C5 kits can be had really cheap on ebay. The engine is molded in one unit with the driveline, but it's simple work to cut it free with a razor saw. The red engine and driveline are Revell C5 LS1. I've cut the LS off to mate a 4.6 Ford modular engine to the Corvette torque-tube and auto gearbox.
unclescott58 Posted November 16, 2014 Posted November 16, 2014 Oh, an "LS" Chevy motor. That I understand. "Is" I didn't. Scott
