magicmustang Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 The real car was used in the movie Two Lane Blacktop and was also driven in the American Graffitti movie by Harrison Ford alias Bob Falfa.
goodwin3224 Posted November 18, 2014 Author Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) I didn't know they were they same car in those movie's. I was meaning more of how hard are these kits to find and what do they typically go for. Thank you Edited November 18, 2014 by goodwin3224
cobraman Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 In this case ebay is your friend. Just do a search and your questions should be answered. : )
cobraman Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Just looked on ebay. There is one and the guy is asking 500.00 for it. ( good luck ) But it is not the body shop version looks like its already assembled.
goodwin3224 Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 Yeah I saw that one. I didn't figure it was worth hundreds but I'm getting it from a friend and I don't want to be ripped off nor do I want to rip him off. I can't find the kit version though
Longbox55 Posted November 20, 2014 Posted November 20, 2014 The real car was used in the movie Two Lane Blacktop and was also driven in the American Graffitti movie by Harrison Ford alias Bob Falfa.Well, that's partially correct. There were actually two cars built for Two Lane Blacktop, one with a 454 that was the primary car, and a second with a very hot 427 that was used for the drag racing scenes. There was also a 3rd car that was a more or less stock '55 Chevy only used for interior scenes. The secondary car was the one that was converted for American Graffiti, and the 3rd car was the one used for the crash scene at the end. Both the primary car, which is still in it's Two Lane Blacktop form, and the secondary car, which has been restored back to it's American Graffiti form, still exist. As far as the die casts go, they are essentially the same other than the wheels, hood scoop, intake manifold, and the paint.
dogma3 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 (edited) i believe thats a ERTYL CASTING.... Edited November 23, 2014 by dogma3
AzTom Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 i believe thats a ERTYL CASTING.... It is Ertl and was sold as such. The kit came out a few years after the built version. They both sell for good money last I checked. It you want the correct Daisy mags for it, you can find them on a dark green Corvette.
