Ok ...no primer yet but,...

I said I would pull out the airbrush and start a learnin' so,...

I found a great tip on wide white painting on this site, so thought I would try it out

What better car to put wide whites on than a '62 T-bird....right?

IMG_4455600x450_zps445ad18a.jpg

Fooled around with mixtures,.. Micheal's Craft paint and windex, water, 99% isopropyl ....nope

Testors acrylic and 99%,.. 2p paint : 1P iso, ....yep

Will let it dry and shoot the whole tire with Tamiya flat...

Always an adventure

Also built up the cowl with strips of evergreen and some Squadron White putty

I really like Squadron's putty ,... if you let it skin up, you can still shape it by patting it around a bit.

Thanks for looking in

Any Questions, Comments, and/or Criticisms welcome.

Model on

Did some work on the exhaust

Detail Master's glasspacks into some Evergreen rod

I tried the DM pencil tips, but they looked too large so..

Back to the tried and true aluminium pipe, angled

IMG_4460600x450_zpsf70b758e.jpg

Then notched the body to keep it all tight

Thank You for checkin' in guys

Jdean I hope so

Kevin patience is a practise... I will continue to practise....lol

Randy........ Not your watchmaker quality, but like I said " it's the only lump of styrene here"

and Ben Thanks for the comment that went missing for some reason... This is my first time doing wide white walls and they will look good once the body colour is on....it's a '62

So...anyway, got the exhaust finished up

IMG_4464600x450_zpsf0785015.jpg

And then saw that there were no brakes so..

Found these in a NASCAR kit,..and with a little finnagling

IMG_4462600x450_zps3b2e0b2f.jpg

Bit more done,..

Body got primered again, wet sanded, then shot the colour (Duplicolor Indigo blue pearl #CBVW2043)

decanted and airbrushed, then a coat of "Future".

I let the "future" dry for a day and then wet sanded. I really like the way it blocks out!

IMG_4468600x450_zpsfdd84110.jpg

Masked the body and shot the engine bay with black.

Now I will BMF the trim and reshoot "Future"

Also got the interior started,

IMG_4469600x450_zps41fb7406.jpg

I tried to BMF the console and dash ribs, but after wrinkling up two pieces, decided to go with the old stand by, Testor's silver enamel flowed on with a brush.

This will be washed with Tamiya smoke, when dry (next week  )

Thanks for looking in
