Maryland Automotive Modelers Association (MAMA). It's a great club. I am proud member. No dues, no club contests, just lots of great builders sharing ideas and checking out each other builds. Plus we have two of the best resin casters in the business in our membership (Replica & Miniatures of MD and Historic Racing MIniatures) Just had our December meeting today. You should check us out. The link is below in my signature.

Nice work on the build by the way.

Thanks! I plan on getting out there one day to meet all of you guys and put some names to faces, I just have to find some free time to do so. I think it's be cool to meet the group.

Tim, sorry about the "MAMA's BOYZ" reference, as you know by now it is a group of auto modelerz. Your work is "attention to detail" and was just wondering being D.C., whether you attend MAMA meetings. No slight intended just a question. Just one other question, did you ever work for UPS?

Sorry, no love lost, I just wasn't familiar with acronym. Thanks for the compliments; I plan on attending a meeting one of these days, time permitting.

No UPS work... Been serving in the Air Force for the last 19 years.

Those are some beautiful builds... Not sure mine are up to par just yet.

Tim, based on the photos I think your builds will fit right in. Come to meeting and you'll see. You don't have to bring a model just come check it out.

And I will shut-up now and just watch your build.

Thank for your service in the Air Force. And nice work on the model so far. It should look great when it's done.

Got to use my new spray booth today. Works like a charm and much needed! Base coat is done, just gotta spray the roof and then clear it.

Interesting color choices; should look great.

I thought the gun metal was darker, but it will look good once the clear goes on. Thanks!

3 coats of clear... In the dehydrator now. No wet sanding on this one since the clear flowed so good. Just a light buff and polish.

That paint looks good so far Tim! Ah to be good enough to not wet sand. I aspire to reach that ability! lol

Thanks Joe! The key was thinning the clear enough to lay it down, which was trial and error, but I got it right by the third coat. It was a lot thinner than I expected, but it came out great.

You do great work too! I'm following your build and picking up pointers all over the place.

Merry (belated) Christmas, everyone. I had to take a two week break while family was visiting, but Santa stocked my work bench with a few models to keep my busy. :-)

Thanks for the tip Tim and the vote of confidence. I haven't reached the point to where I can airbrush a clean gloss coat yet. Gimme flat colors and I'll do most anything you want but this high gloss business is all new to me. It'll take a little time but I'll eventually figure that out. :D

After a .5 micron, very light wet sand and Novus #2, but no wax yet. I had a color change on the hood, so it will be titanium versus gun metal. Clear coating it now.
