Rollin,

Even though it's not my style, I sure can appreciate all of the work that you put into that paint job!! The reflections in the paint and the crispness of the lines show how well it's finished!! Keep up the great work!!

Gil, this Impala is absolutely beautiful! I love the contrast between the red and the gold. A very tasteful combination indeed. Also a flawless execution that really does the lowrider look proud.

Rollin,

I forgot to mention in my prior post...thanks for the great tip on the air filters!!

BTW, my LHS still hasn't got the Pegasus wheels I ordered that you helped me with for my 58 Impala. Hopefully I'll get them this week so I can get that beast finished...

Thanks for sharing!!

Orale Man! you may not be from East LA, but you sure seem to understand these low riders. Are the white (?) patterns on gold in the center Hawaiian characters? Awesome hand work in all those lines and shapes.

I am into racers, not low rider cars, but in San Fernando where I grew up, they were all around me and I have helped some friends work on theirs, so I can appreciate the effort that goes into them. Also a couple of my friends, Armando Flores and Josue Gonzales were at the forefront of bringing low riders to the mainstream of model cars with models which won Model of the Year Championships and features in SA Contest Annuals in the 90s.

the patterned lines are just kinda random.... tried to make a tribal type of pattern...

Heyyy man you build some awesome lowriders!! I really like the yellow and red 65 Impala. That paint is wild, man!! But I'm curious, why the silver/chrome front - rear corners? Was that a way to show off you could afford to put more chrome on the car, or what? Those five spoke wheels..... hmmm doesn't look very good. Try to find a set of Cragar S/S from AMT's 65 Galaxie, now those are beautiful! Very crisp molding, with S/S detail in the center caps. Very cool old school wheels! There's a kit you could build a lowrider of, it's got an opening trunk, right from way back in 1965. :P

yea, i've thought of puttin some cragars on it..... i got those supremes from the 70 impala kit.... the same kit comes with pretty awesome set of cragars as well... as far as the chrome front and rear corners, i really don't kno.... i kno that some of the guys did that back in th days.... the guys in cali can drive their stuff down to Mexico and get chrome for cheap.....
