Started this build in September basically out of the box. Kit was molded in tan and I just polished out the tan components. Detail painted to the best of my abilities. This is only the third finished build of mine in 20 years.

Wrecker boom is just placed in the bed for now.

Still need to add decals, side view mirrors and paint the tool box and tools.

I did find that most of the thinner parts such as the windshield frame, boom crank and headlight bar were quite brittle. They all cracked very easily. Not sure if it was because of the way the kit was molded in the shiny plastic or not.

Thanks for looking

Clean.

However, ~ just a tip, not a criticism ~ the radiator shell should be black for a Ford commercial vehicle in '34. (Just like your headlamp bar and backs of the headlamps.)

If you can find an example that would prove it, however NOT finding an example doesn't disprove it. ;)https://www.google.com/search?q=1934+ford+pick+up&espv=2&biw=1600&bih=799&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=T-6NVNKrAonzoATm-oFo&ved=0CAYQ_AUoAQ#tbm=isch&q=original+1934+ford+pick+up&imgdii=_

Thanks for all the comments, it isn't perfect but it displays well.

I built this before attempting to build the custom version down the road. I want to build that one as close as possible to the original issue box art kit.

BTW regarding the radiator shell color, I saw a photo of a 34 on the net I liked. I don't know if it was a correct resto or not, I just liked the color combo.

Thanks for all the new comments, it was a fairly easy kit to put together. I spent more time on it than I should have but it was a good experience to try and improve my skills.

Nice clean build. I'm with you on building this one stock. I have built the '34 five times now, all not too far from stock. They all have the basic flathead and wire wheels except one with newer Ford wheels. I keep thinking I will try a top chop or a fenderless rod but, they always come out about the same. You just can't beat this kit for being right on.
