Mike Whatshisname Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 (edited) Been there done that Stanley! Could not move for 3 weeks...had to crawl to the bathroom. Would be out of breath after 1 step. Aweful, Aweful sickness! When I had MRI's taken they first thought I had lung cancer 'cause I had a growth (dead spot) in my lung. Scared the S@!#$#@$%T out of me! Edited January 29, 2008 by Mike Whatshisname

roncomatic Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 I got pneumonia and let me tell you I have never been in this much pain!!! Hi Stan! I've also had pneumonia, albeit a long time ago but I agree... it's no fun. What you need to do is get in bed and rest. I can't even imagine how you're able to sit at the computer and type. Hope you feel better real soon. --ron
Jon Cole Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 I did a five-day hospital stay because of pneumonia! Went in on Christmas eve! NO fun... PLEASE go see a doctor, this is nothing to ignore! Godd luck! Hope you get well! -Jon-
stanleymsn Posted January 31, 2008 Author Posted January 31, 2008 Thanks for your concern SPYDER and to all the modelers on here but I am feeling a little better if this means anything I am still able to build my master pieces, and this forum has helped me. dumb as it seems but it's like a soap opera which i like some comments make me laugh and some puts me to sleep. Other than that I am doing good. Thanks again Stanley Mason
lordairgtar Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 They have vaccine shots for that. Being Diabetic, I get them when the doctor can pin me down. (I hate needles) Had all my shots this year...flu, pneumonia, distemper...uh just kidding on the last one.
bobcrozier Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 I had Lobar Pnuemonia years back, which isn't as bad as only one lung is affected, but it laid me flat for three weeks. Look after yourself mate and not too many late nights you hear! Here in the UK its known as Man Flu!! Bob
stanleymsn Posted February 1, 2008 Author Posted February 1, 2008 thank you and I have the man flu it makes me really week but this board keeps me going.
george 53 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Stanerman, I had double walking new monia (in both lungs) and i was at DISNEY WORLD! dr there told me if i was coughin up blood he'd put me in the hospital. iwas but i didnt tell him. wasnt gonna mess the vacation any worse. either way it took me about 3 months to finally get completely over it. it is VERY dangerous and you should see your Dr. about it, cuz the anti biotics may seem to be working but it can come back with a vengence! Do really hope you get over it soon, best wishes and God Bless,George 53 ------ Didn't mean to scare ya , but it really is some mean sh!!t, don't mess around with it and see your Dr. Again,George53.
Guest rick r Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 ICame down with it about 9 years ago, while making fake cop cars and taxis for an AHH-nold movie, left work, drove across the San Fernando Valley & I don't remember doing it! Finally called 911, got an ambulance to the E Room... When the penecilin/antibiotics hit my lungs I literally felt the crud fall from the sides of my lungs... The aftermath was unpleasant, left the E-room when the staff got snotty, went home (35 miles) had fainting problems, a week or two before I got back to normal, lingering problems with sleep, etc. Best advice, stay warm, get a lot of liquids into your system, take your time getting back 'up'. Good luck!
cruzn Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I got pneumonia and let me tell you I have never been in this much pain!!! Please seek treatment.. My Lady got Pneumonia and she didn't want to go to the doctor for two weeks.. when she did they admitted her to the Hospital. when all said and done she now has COPD. Which means a twice daily Inhaler dose and to be careful of colds.
