Atta Boy, Chip! With the knowledge you will gain there you may very well become much better at casting than I am. I won't be signing up though. I need the seat left open for someone else. I might actually be in Indiana then. One of my renters is moving and I will need to run people through the rental for showing. I will be in Art Andersons neck of the woods and close to my favorite PIZZA KING PIZZA shop in good old Otterbein. Will and Kathy make the best pizza, they really pile on the toppings! Otterbein is also where Murf Mckinney racing used to be, they build funny cars. Now they are on Fast Line Drive near the SIA plant in Lafayette.

I would love to teach you my friend, getting together is the problem. I used to somewhat portable with my casting stuff but not anymore. They do offer some casting classes at Tech Shop but joining is not cheap.

Having went to a silversmithing school, I'm up on investment casting and all the other jeweler's arts, but using resin and RTV are a whole different thing. I'm really looking forward to this.

You just can't ask a video a question and you just can't show your own project to a video. The company makes their own products. Aaron describes gigantic vats in the factory where he had to go for around three weeks of getting to know the products. He was employed first when I met him at Ball consulting, a store that carried the Polytek line of silicone and resin products. Reynolds Advanced Materials bought them out. I see the same seminar is free in Chicago. Harry the Admin should sign up.

I should have been more clear. I wanted to point out that this company was "NOT amateur youtube stupidity" The Reynolds Advanced Materials, a division of Smooth-On has been around since the 60's, and as stated above Smooth-On has been around forever.

I sold and used a lot of Smooth-On when I had the store in Ohio and thought it to be a great product.

Nothing beats hands on .... plus you get a starter kit and they feed you.

Even if you're planning to attend a seminar, the videos give you a good oversight of the processes and materials involved, so the hands-on experience and opportunity to ask questions will have more value, because you'll ALREADY know something about what you're learning in the class.
