jaftygas Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Do you think you will go with the blue glass I think it really cool, and the scoop is one of my favorites.
B-Ram Posted January 4, 2015 Author Posted January 4, 2015 Hey Joe, I am planing to put a lot into the interior, so I plan to use clear. Most of the time I don't you the kit glass, too thick. Most of time I use clear plastic from the covers of note books.I used clear plastic on the 50 Ford pickup below. Bill
DeeCee Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Very nice custom work so far Bill, i will be watching this one with a lot of interest.
B-Ram Posted January 10, 2015 Author Posted January 10, 2015 Hey Guys, Had to go back to work after the holidays, so not a lot of changes this week. Right now I am working on the front end. The way it sits is way too high. Even after I adjusted the king pins as high up as I can it still sits too high. So I'm going to cut the suspension loose from the frame and remount it. Bill
B-Ram Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Ok, cut the suspension off and lowered it about 1/8". Looks better, but I will see if I can lower it some more. Bill
B-Ram Posted January 11, 2015 Author Posted January 11, 2015 Now it's lowered 3/16". That looks a lot better. Bill
B-Ram Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 Hi All, I've got the stance set. The wheels are not the ones that I am going to use. Bill
B-Ram Posted January 15, 2015 Author Posted January 15, 2015 Hey Guys, Actually getting some work done during the week. I going to have a front dam. So the first thing to do is to add some styrene under the lip of the nose to give the dam something to back up to. I don't know a lot about the classes at Bonneville, but it appears that some of the Studebaker classes require bumpers, so I will be adding them to the nose. Bill
B-Ram Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Hey Guys, Update time. I got a few things done. I've gotten the front dam in place. Now some filling and sanding. Also, I did not like the engine bay and the inner wheel wells, so I cut them off. I am a front similar to some 1:1 cars that I have seen. I will need to fill in the area between the fire wall and the doors, so I cut some heavy paper (business card) and will use it to make a pattern for for some styrene. Bill
B-Ram Posted January 17, 2015 Author Posted January 17, 2015 Hi Guys, I need to check my writing before I hit send. Above I meant to say that I am going to build the front end similar to some 1:1 cars that I have seen. Bill
B-Ram Posted January 18, 2015 Author Posted January 18, 2015 Hey Guys, Thanks Ray. I've gotten the front dam set. Just needs a little filing. Bill
B-Ram Posted January 31, 2015 Author Posted January 31, 2015 Update time. Working on the body pan. Glued it into place. Once the glue dries, I will scribe in the detail. Also I got a Revell 68 Vett for $10 new in the box, so I am going to use the enigne from that. More to come. Bill
B-Ram Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 I have the belly plan on and have scribed in the detail. Bill
B-Ram Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 The detail looks heavy, but once the paint is applied the detail will soften. Bill
B-Ram Posted February 7, 2015 Author Posted February 7, 2015 Hey Guys, I've got the hood scoop shaped and in place. The scoop is from the AMT 66 pro street Nova. Also, Getting some work done on the motor. It won't have much chorme. All business. Bill
cobraman Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Lookin' good ! Hopefully mine will be dry before you get yours done !
B-Ram Posted February 8, 2015 Author Posted February 8, 2015 Thanks Ray. Maybe it will dry with the spring thaw.
B-Ram Posted February 8, 2015 Author Posted February 8, 2015 Hey Guys, Got some work done on the motor. Bill
B-Ram Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 Hey Guys, Sorry for no updates. Work has gotten in the way. OK. I started mocking things up to see how they look and I find out that there is no room for the exhausts. So I had to cut off everything in front of the dash. Bill
B-Ram Posted February 20, 2015 Author Posted February 20, 2015 Hi Ray, Making the exhausts now. We will see how much room there is. I'm making quite a pile of scrap styrene though. Bill
